Jyelena van Pjotr, Lady of Piotrsdorv
Lord Albricht van Pjotr's daughter has a heavy burden to carry as a decendant of the founding family of Pjotrsdorv. The family has been protecting the river and access to the realm for centuries and with her father's death serving in this role, the young noblewoman is expected to carry on with the duty.
Like many of her countrymen she is a proud mabari trainer. 'Sten' came toher as a puppy from the van Pjotr's own breeding pack and has been by her side ever since. The powerful dog is to her a symbol of the Far Lands and the land's pride. Jyelena is often surrounded by local hunters and trainers to improve her skillset as she wants to make sure that she will be ready to face whatever challenge the ruler of Pjotrsdorv is confrontated with with her companion by her side.
Jyelena knows that her duty will lead her on the battlefield as never has one of her predessors been able to avoid facing raiders. She therefore choose to spend a lot of time around her people, keeping the barriers between her and them as low as a lady of her station could afford, to make sure to gain their trust. This facilitated the transition to power as her father died in battle with the common people, while many noblemen reject her approach as they dislike the lack of distinction between peasants and nobility.
Like many hunters from the Far Lands Jyelena is rumored to worship the Great Fang. There are several reports that she even has a shrine to the cult's god in the family's estate, leaving many wondering if the whole family might have been worshiping this lesser god and putting them in tensions with the church of Caldis.
In 436 she joined Bran Sparkhammer's hunt for the goblin warlord terrorising the land around Pjotrsdorv. Turning a bugbear prisoner they found the cave that was used as base of operation by 'Little Bugga'. After a brutal battle the group managed to finally end the terror from this warband.
Celebrated by Pjortsdorv Lord Vladusz van Kjonstantin congratulated her on her success. But she still deemed that there was more to be done. She especially wanted to visit the place her father was killed and therefore asked Bran to join him on his mission to scout the area towards castle Rightous Hold. During this mission they rescued an orcish warrior battling off a hobgoblin patrol and together with this Vorak they managed to discover the harbour west of Rightous Hold and ships used to deliver the goblin and bugbear force that was ravaging the hinterlands of Pjotrsdorv. Discovered by their enemies the group around Bran was to force to flee by crossing the river swimming.
Yet again the mission was proven successful and as in the meantime the reinforcements under Xavier van Axxen had arrived. The young lord from Eversted urged to face the enemy forces gather at the lost castle and so the remaining army of the Far Lands was sent south with Jyelena in charge of the Far Lands contingent while Xavier was leading the troops from the west.
Contrary to what the forces of the Realm were expecting the hobgoblin army was already waiting for them and managed to ambush them. Jyelena couragously lead her flank in battle, but it was obvious that they would be defeated. Therefore she made sure they would be able to retreat as organised as possible to not lose even more soldiers to panic.
After a long day of fighting and retreating they finally reach the bridge of Pjotrsdorv the next morning, getting across as many men as possible harassed by wolf riders and a goblin shaman on a manticore. With Bran fighting off an attack at the bridge he made sure the surviors were able to cross the bridge to safety before being forced to burn down the bridge themselves to prevent the hobgoblin army from taking it.
After the defeat of the 'Crushing Hope' battle and the loss of the bridge lord Kjonstantin moved east to Hundswacht to direct the war effort from there. Jyelena was left in charge of her town. With most of her troops gone though she was forced to accept the help of a newly arrived warband of volunteers that offered to chase the goblin in the hinterlands.
Surprisingly enough after butchering all goblins and bugbears they could find these volunteers moved on towards Hundswacht to join the war effort there and Jyelena could focus on rebulding what was lost.
When Bran and Hereford lead the orc tribes from the south into the Far Lands a large chunk of them settled the lands around Pjotrsdorv giving her both a welcome replacement for the people and soldiers lost.
Like most people in the Far Lands the Goblinoid Invasion of 436 YoU Jyelena was also pushed in here believes that they couldn't count on the Realm for help in time of need. This also encouraged her to allow the open worship of the Great Fang and putting them under her own protection. This move draw the anger of the Caldis church who declared the Great Fang cult to be heretics, a danger to any society and further demanding her removal from power. Lord Kjonstantin showed no interest in supporting demands coming from anyone out of Eversted and instead sided with the young lady of Pjotrsdorv.
