Nekaria, Arch Mage of Necromancy

For those who met her, Nekaria left little doubt which school of magic she presided. The necromancers mysterious appearance played right into any horrifying story uneducated would tell each other about those using magic to raise the dead.
But while her look was very obviously telling her profession everything else around her was surrounded in mystery. This elf has been the archmage of necromancy since the University has been founded and some even claim she goes back to the time of the Elven Empire - a notion she didsn't bother to deny, like any other wild speculation made about her.
Nekaria was the most reclusive of the archmages and her school the hardest to get accepted in. While she was the only arch age to date back to the founding, she still had far less mages trained by her than some of her concurrent collegues.

In 437 YoU as she heard about Alvery Vestergaard reclaimed Elandirill Nekaria offered to help controll the undead still roaming the streets of the ruined town in exchange for a building that would be her own. With her help it was easy to gain controll of old elven town and she soon started rebuilding a tower and even setting up a teleportation circle to connect her office at the University with the new accommodation.

Later that year Bloddwyn Bluainach delivered a captured elf called Sotha Ciyl to her at the university. Sotha Ciyl turned out to be an agent for the Moon Isles that infiltrated Bloddwyn's companions and as it turned out information leaked by him lead to an raid of Rivgraad. Afraid that the elf might leak information about Elandirill which the party had just visited before the truth of his alligance was uncovered, Dorn Brashard suggested to bring him to the archmage as she might know what to do with him. Nekaria demanded the elf to be turned over to her and for Bloddwyn to leave until the next day where she would have more insights.
When Bloddwyn returned Sotha Ciyl appeared on first glance to be unchanged except for him ignoring Bloddwyn and just standing guard. After closer inspection the monsterhunter recognized that an illusion spell was cast upon the elf to mask his true status as he was turned into a wight bound to serve the archmage as guardian. Since then Sotha Ciyl was a constant and untiring guard at the entrance to Nekaria's tower in Elandirill.
