Niklas van Riwburgh

Niklas van Riwburgh was a known nobleman from Eversted whose main business was a ship company working on the Laangen River. His fleet consisted of three ships that suddenly went missing in 436 YoU, but he never reported that fact. 
While some of the dockworkers and sailors of Nevssted were confused as no one knew if they were still sailing or if he found some new lucrative enterprise for them, those in the capital never heard even rumors about it. This changed when Xavier van Axxen and Bran Sparkhammer arrived in the capital to report about the Goblinoid Invasion in the Far Lands. Bran had discovered the ships harbouring in a sidearm of the river, controlled by hobgoblins and being used to transport a significant force of goblins and bugbears over the river to ravage the countryside of the Far Lands.
As soon as Lothar van Brugge sent for Niklas van Riwburgh for a meeting the nobleman's staff excused him. He had already left the city for Rivgraad.
Bran chased after him only to find him killed by cultists in Veylindin. On his bodyguard Bran found a letter that uncovered his cooperation with elves from the Hiyndurill Forest to provide his ships to the Iron Hand Empire. He had done so under threat to be exposed for his part in slavery and child abuse by his partner 'Z'.
