Saara

Saara was among the first slave settlements founded by the Sahuagin Empire. Out of desparation humans plead to anyone that would listen to help them free themselves of their slavemasters - and fiends listend. Demons and devils reached out for their chance to spread their power to the mortal realm. It didn't take long for the powerful beings to chase the Sahuagin off and spread their own Blood War to the city of Saara and its surroundings.

After a short time devils claimed the city while the demons spread into the Stone Desert and both affected the people and their surroundings. To this day tieflings are the majority of the city's populace as a reminder of the fiendish influence, while the Stone Desert went from just being an arid harsh environment to an even darker place.   The war between demons and devils ravaged the city and its people, leading to humans either fight their overlords or fleeing deeper into the Stone Desert, laying the foundation for the tribes that now inhabit the land. This unrest lasted for centuries until Aaradem's campaign lead by angels banished the fiends from the city.
Now the city is lead by a royal tiefling family, going back to the leaders of the rebellion. The large percentage of tieflings on the street gives this city its iconic appearance, but also its bad reputation based on prejudice due to their fiendish blood. This also lead to Saara being called the Forbidden or Forsaken City and being often feared by people who lack knowledge of its history.
The city of Korbel acts as intermediary for Saara in trading with other places often feeling like they are taking advantage of Saara. In reality the royal family and guilds of Saara are subtly manipulating Korbel's leadership to do its bidding.   Aaradem on the other hand has become somewhat of a sister city and closest ally of Saara. Though both cities with their large tiefling and asimar populations often struggle with prejudices and distrust resulting from it.
