Vernar van Proisz
While his family had a streak of financial bad luck Vernar saw himself forced to join Eversted's Thousand Sons as an officer. Truth to be told the van Preusz were never a powerful or wealthy family and the financial 'bad luck' hits them quite often.
Vernar is a well trained fighter that takes pride in his office. Like most members oft the guard his loyalty is with the city first and foremost, neither king nor the Realm's council. He also understands his social status, who he can talk down to and who he needs to appease.
While not being a scheming man, he still looks for his chance to distinguish himself from the rank and file 'noblemen' on the force and raise to captain of the guard or maybe even higher. Getting his family into the Council of the Realm would be something he does aspire too, but he is a realist and understands when he's reaching for the stars. Thus he values more a clear even if small victory or some high hopes and vaine promises.
During his time with the Thousand Sons he was tasked with exploring the newly discovered tunnels underneath the eastern part of the city. He and two of his men teamed up Alvery and Keijo Artanis-Vestergaard, who made the discovery and ventured into the deep. Unfortunatly their expedition was ambushed by an unknown group and while most of those were dispatched without issues, two of the assilients seemed immune to damage from regular weapons. While one of his men was killed, the two elves managed to push back the final attackers.
As Vernar reported to his superiors about this matter he and the two elves continued to investigate who assaulted them. This though ended up in them three being lured into an ambush in the Tower's District, which lead to the death of his newly assigned patrol members. Afterwards he also found his guard from the first encounter was found dead. For losing all his men in his service Vernar was discharged from his post as officer of the city guard.
Right before falling on hard times he received an offer to join the Artanis-Vestergaard vineyard in Flushavs as a guard.
