Yrdessa, Arch Mage of Conjuration
While mages are known to be serious, stern and meticolous personalities, non of this seems to discribe Ydressa. The archmage of the school of conjuration was a rather colorful and outgoing personality. Only few meeting her would have expected her to be one of the most powerful mages on the continent.
Yrdessa could be found on most social gatherings of the powerful and wealthly, enjoying the fact that her status opened any door for her, even though her wit and sharp tongue had the tendency to deal out backhanded compliments infront of everyone to those that bore her. One might get the impression that she spent more time gossiping with Prisandriell, the owner of the 'Erandir's Emporium', than researching magic. In addition to that her openly carried disdane of the church of the Lady's rules and regulations on magic, just increased the oppinion of her being an odd choice for the role of an archmage.
While her colorful personality might have raised concerns, there was no question about her magical prowess. Even some of the archmages tended to bite their tongues and think twice before contradicting her as they knew Ydressa had spent her youth travelling extensivly and some even claim she saw other planes of existance. Being close to 70 years old, but looking like 40 at most and her strange raven-familiar are just some of obvious signs that there was more to her than she shows. In earily 436 YoU she accepted to take over the tutalage of an Alvery Vestergaard after archmage Cerellis refused to continue his. The cleric of the Lady Tasha van Rikkten assumed this might just have been the case to annoy the church for she expected Yrdessa to be far too lax on the young half-elven student that showed signs of powerful, but completely uncontrolled magic. Yet the signed letter by Yrdessa as well as some hastly written grades for 'successfully' passed exams granted Alvery some freedom from the church of the Lady. Later that year Yrdessa also warned the high priestess Danikka van Szonek about a potential demonic cult forming around the arena champion known as Demian the Prince based on information she got from her 'student' Alvery. After Alvery had found Elandirill and uncovered the secrets of the Lady's origin it was Yrdessa who presented her as 'the chosen' of the goddess to the church. The action was clearly ment to push the newly appointed high priestess Tasha in an attempt to gain more freedom for mages in their research.
