History:
The Royal Order of Archivists, or ROA as it is usually referred to by the dwarves, is an order of librarians and archival experts tasked with the preservation of dwarven science and culture. Though most organizations like it were wiped away after
The Clan Council took power, the ROA remains, its mission so important and its higher-ups so entrenched that it would take decades of unraveling to dismantle the organization entirely. Seen as not worth the effort, they were allowed to continue to exist, even though they technically don't answer to the council, and instead the empty throne. Historicly the order has not abused this privileged position, and has continued its efforts to preserve the past to the best of its abilities though they have still occasionally meddled in politics when it concerns them.
Though responsible for the proliferation of
Copper Crystals and the unfortuante condition that comes with them, they have also been able to fulfill their mission by creating small artificial crystaline creatures to serve as knowledge repositories as well as keeper crystals. This has lead to a renewed effort to disolve the order, as their mission was accomplished, and their political meddlings too frequent to ignore. These efforts have largely gone nowhere, but they havent ceased completely.
