The Order of the Eternal Rose
The Order of the Eternal Rose
Crafted by Lucretia herself, the order began life within human-held lands where it was a charitable organization and orphanage. Few children were adopted though, and most found the order to be their permanent home. These children, along with the poor families which found refuge within the Delacroix family villa were schooled in magic and subterfuge. Under the Delacroix family’s instructions, these forgotten individuals became a small army, their devotion and loyalty beyond reproach.
So when the family was exiled, the order followed, guarding and ensuring the family’s safety during their transition to the dragon lands. There they flourished under the lack a daisy controls of their new lords, recruiting hundreds more to their cause under the banner of feeding the hungry and giving homes to the homeless. Though not expressly evil, those who wish to pay the order back were brought into their secretive ranks. Where they became knights, hospitalers, healers, and volunteers who spread word of their charity.
The most loyal and fervent devotees who catch the eye of the family do not fear death for if they were to fall they know they will be returned to life. Those who do fall become a part of the black roses, undead knights who serve as the family’s personal guards and close advisors. Some are even adopted into the family, who at that point were mostly undead. Trained in necromancy, mounted combat, and leadership, the black roses are as powerful as they are secretive.
Delacroix family/Lucretia Delacroix Originally human, little is known about Lucretia and her family before she became a vampire and was expelled from human lands. What is known is at that point she was nearly a hundred and fifty years old and had more family members than she did years under her belt. Unbothered by her expulsion, the vampire quickly found herself in the court of a green wyrmling who had recently been put in charge of a small southern barony that encompassed several towns. Framp, Pildock, fordge, Skipton, Godhurst, and Exher. Once there she quickly moved her way up the ladder, becoming the wyrmling’s favored councilor and concubine.
During this time her family formed the order of the Eternal Rose and began to recruit necromancers, undead, and other blackguards. Eventually, her lust for power grew until she could stand the wyrmling’s presence no more. The dragon was no fool though, and saw this betrayal coming, attacking her manor himself. Ultimately he underestimated just how much power she had amassed and perished but not before bathing Lucretia herself in green fire. Now disfigured, the Delacroix family took control of the barony. Resurrecting the dragon as a puppet, her family somehow managed to avoid the wrath of the dragon lords. Though since then her influence has been stymied outside of her barony as the lords know well how great her lust for power truly is.
Irritated at her poor progress outside her barony, and slowly dwindling coffers, the Delacroix family and their order have taken control of the The Hexed Hammer, as well as the The Jade Sun Banking Clan in order to finance an expedition to Kingbreaker island in order to acquire the power and wealth necessary to break out from under the Dragon Lord’s control.
