Material Characteristics
If one wears the proper eye protection gear it can be observed that at the center of the brilliant light is the stone itself which actually appears more like a metal. unlike Sol sun stones shine with one wavelength of light consistently instead of of the kaleidoscope effect of sol.
Physical & Chemical Properties
The stones themselves are cool to the touch but the light they make is regarded as identical to the light of the original sun. these stones shine brilliantly for about 12 hours before going dim and this light both warms the caverns they are in as well as allow the growing of crops and even use of solar panels if scavenged.
Geology & Geography
Sun stones are usually found on the ceilings of the larger caverns within The Network but smaller stones can be found anywhere underground.
Origin & Source
The stones themselves appear to be portions of the original suns core that was shattered during the Hemorrhage and found their way to earth when Amans had his soul shattered.

Discovery
THE DISCOVERY OF THE SUN ST*ACK*ONES CHANGED OUR WAY OF LIFE NO LONGER DID WE NEED TO HIDE FROM AMANS OR HIS LOBOTOMIZED GOLEMS. WITH THIS LIGHT WE FOUGHT BACK! CREATING SAFE HAVENS IN THE LARGEST OF CAVERNS!.
Everyday use
any subjects who choose to venture out of the warmth and glow of a primary cavern will affix a small sun stone to their chest or head to illuminate their passage and ward off Amans. The fools that comprise the Topsiders quite literally cannot leave the network without a sun stone lest Sol purify them or Venari corrupt them should they be unfortunate enough to be caught in a nightfall.
Cultural Significance and Usage
Within the glory of the network it represents normalcy as being a part of the universe from before the hemorrhage it can prevent the purification or corruption that exposure to the celestials would normally bring.
Industrial Use
Topsiders will carve their stones into unique shapes or even sculptures.
Refinement
No refinement is necessary sun stones are pulled from the earth or found naturally occurring on the roofs of caverns just as they are.
Hazards
Unlike Sol or Venari Sun stones represent normalcy and do not have any ill effects that the first sun would not give such as sunburn.

Due to the relative necessity of sun stones to grow food and *cough* provide light here in the network aspiring Topsiders must retrieve their own sun stones from the depths of the network in Amans territory.
