Yuya, the Seris adventurer
Kadearu (a.k.a. "the seris child")
At first I thought that this child was being either stupid or very optimistic, after all these years, this seris boy has shown me the greatest of courage and the importance of a real friendship, without him and the rest I couldn't have become the person I am today.. but enough of sentimentalisms for now!!, Lets go back to work! Crysanthos, about Yuya.Who in Brire doesn't know about the famous Seris traveller and adventurer, Yuya, the seris child, as many called him when he first arrived to Brire. He and his friends were the most famous and successful group of adventurers in the whole kingdom of Brire.
His Birth:
Yuya was born at the Kadearu clan castle at Vaneyama in 596 AP. He was the only son of Yieshi Kadearu, head of the Kadearu family and Governor of the Province of Eshan. When he was a child he was under the protection and care, coincidences of life, by his future wife, Nellerlë of Astan , who, alongside her parents had served the Kadearu family for generations. The young Yuya learned the basics that every Seris noblemen had to master; the classics of Poetry and Literature, and most importantly, sword fighting (something that would prove useful in the near future). The destruction of all that he knew and the search for a new home
But then in 611 AP their lives suddenly changed. Yuya's father Yieshi was accused of treason to the crown by an envious local official named Tagash. This official demanded Yieshi to get out of the castle to be put under arrest and later face a trial at Sakouramish. He refused as he was an innocent man and demanded a representative of the Emperor to be called and hear his case, allowing him to defend himself against this accusations. But his plea wasn't heard and no representative of the Emperor came (probably because the letter was intercepted by the official). Meanwhile Tagash gathered a government army in order to besiege Vaneyama Castle and arrest the "traitor". Seeing this Yieshi gathered his loyal supporters with their armies in the Castle ready to defend it. Soon the castle was besieged and before the castle defences were finally broken, both Ymil and Yieshi decided to save their children, they dressed them like commoners and showed them a secret passage that would allow them to escape from the castle. Both children didn't want to leave their parents but they insisted. "Save the honour of our family" told Yeishi to Yuya, while Nellërne's father ordered her to protect the family's heir. This is the last time both Yuya and Nelli saw their parents alive. After escaping from the siege both youngsters began travelling across the country begging for food until they reached rumours of how wealthy adventurers were in Blati; so, they decided to cross the strait and search for a job as adventurers in the capital's famous guild. But the search was in vain and so they were forced to look for another adventurers Guild that could offer them a job. So, they arrived in the kingdom of Brire, crossing the Parana River towards the city of Banias in 613 AP. Their adventures were about to begin... After joining Banias's adventurers guild Yuya and Nelli met Crysanthos and the rest of their companions. The first mission of these adventurers team was to retrieve the Holy Mirror of the Goddess Tyr. The Siege of Banias was Yuya first battle experience and he distinguished himself, as well as their companions, during that siege.Rise to fame
Despite his young age, the "Seris Boy" as he came to be known in Banias, and his friends became quite popular after having returned with the holy relic of the Goddess Tyr and then having help to the defence of the city. Despite this fame, Yuya and his friends continue to work in the guild as common adventurers, doing mundane tasks like clearing dungeons, helping villagers... . But their fame also caught the attention of the elites of the country, and once they were send as ambassadors to the court of Steplia by no other than the king of Brire himself. Some 15 years after their arrival Yuya and Nelli had a chance to return to their homeland recalled by Yuya's cousin, Kami, who was a courtier at the Seris Imperial Palace and who had evidence of the innocence of Yuya and Nelli's parents. Together with their friends they embarked on a mission to restore his family's honour and after many perils, Togash, the man who had instigated the murder of his father, was found guilty and executed. Before returning home, the Seris Emperor gave him a mission to rescue the Sun Elf Prince, an important ally of the Seris Empire, who was held captive at the Sun Fortress by the Grand Vizier Aranek. Together with the Sun Elf resistance, they managed to rescue the prince and helped organizing the rebellion who ultimately deposed Aranek and restore the power to the Sun elf King. After returning to Banias the city's authorities granted Yuya the highest honour bestowed to a foreigner by the Oronai in what is known as the "Kassa Ceremony", where the foreigner is granted Oronai citizenship and allowed to wear the famous Kassa, the oronai beret. From that moment onwards, despite still be called the Seris boy, Yuya became a fellow Oronai in the eyes of the community. He also married Nelli many years after their romance began when he was still a teenager. Together they had three children, Yieshi, Asander and Brisdril, the latter married Crysanthos'son Nikanor.Rest of his life and the end of a hero
Yuya, Nelli and their friends continue to work for Banias's Adventurers Guild for many more years, despite the retirement of Crysanthos and his later death. When Yuya retired, age 50 he became a member of Banias's City Council alongside another of his companions, Flavius. His eldest son, Yieshi continued his father legacy as an adventurer, even participating in the War of the Great Call decades after his father's death. In 674 AP Yuya died peacefully of old age, after many adventures, laughs and sorrows, in his bed aged 78. His funeral was attended by thousands of inhabitants of Banias and even the local Governor. A golden statue on his mausoleum was donated by the King of Brire himself.A final comeback...
But his demise was not the end of the story. In 833 AP during the battle of the Oronai Gates, the sorcerers of the coalition armies casted an spell that made many heroes of the past returned from the dead from a brief period of time to fight the barbarian hordes. Among these heroes were Yuya, Crysanthos, the veteran warrior , Nellerlë of Astan and the rest of his companions. Their arrival demoralized the barbarian armies and, after fighting bravely, they said farewell to their descendants and returned to the heavenly palace of the Gods.Mental characteristics
Mental Trauma
For most of his teenager years Yuya had nightmares about the death of his parents and live with a sense of having lost the family's honor. He also lived with a desire of revenge for the unjoustified death of his parents, but, as time went on this desire diminished but in the end, Yuya got the oportunity to clear his father's name and managed to get Togash imprisoned on grounds of treason.
Despite this "victory" Yuya suffered from these nightmares all his life.
What's the matter honey? Another nightmare? Yes, yes Nelli, another bloody nightmare. I... I stood in front of the castle, at the gate... it was all burned, the flags with the family's emblem on the ground, and suddenly a hand came from beneath the earth and grabbed my foot and pushed me into the ground towards a big hole. I was seated in it and ... suddently a torch was lit and i saw my father and an skeleton with my mother's clothes, both of them were wispering at me: Avenge us, son, look what we've become... Then I screamed and woke up. Do you think its a message from the underworld? Underworld?, our parents were heroes and good people Yuya, they were innocent, they must be having breakfast with the Gods, not with the God of Death, suffering eternal damnation. Besides, your father wasn't like that, he didn't know what "revenge" means. Believe I know him since he was born.
Intellectual Characteristics
Yuya was a talented poet. This came as no surprise because of his education as a Seris noble. He often wrote poems during his free time following the basics of classical Seris Poetry. His son, Asander, decided to publish them a century after his death.
The Sun rises and the mist over the river is starting to dissapear, its beams, sent by the father of the gods, cross the sky like an spear, across the fertile, lifegiving and mighty rivers of this land, I have the impression, that after all these years, my new home is near.
