Lyrium veins are blue crystal like branches that protrude outward in many directions. The veins glow with a blue dim light.

Lyrium is extremely volatile and sometimes explodes for no reason. Physical contact with raw lyrium ore will cause serious injury and psychological damage. Some scholars believe that lyrium is alive.

Raw Lyrium can be found in deep caverns, although it is rarely found.
History & Usage
History
The presence of raw lyrium is a bad omen. Legend stats that its appearance means a death without honor is near. They say that it is the goddess Hel reaching out to try to escape her prison and free her brothers Fenrir and the World Serpent, bringing upon Ragnarök.
