Gaidal is a very old elven man, he has been one of the Knights of the Talon for hundreds of years, joined around the same time as the High Marshal Rhain. Studied the blade and became a Dai'shan at the same time as Rhain under the tutelage of Shael Dai'shan. Should have a much higher position within the Knights of the Talon but has turned down promotions and even demoted himself around the same time that Rhain became the High Marshal. Was formerly a Knight Captain for a long time but demoted himself and left the larger overall organization, Changed his banner from Silver (Roaming Adventurer) to Gold (Stationary Garrison) and took up the position he currently holds in Silverwater.
Gaidal is the baroness's childhood friend, he is also in love with her but knows that her heart was hardened by her husbands death and he has not shared his feelings for her.
He is an exceptionally fierce fighter and not someone to be taken lightly. He is a Dai'shan or blade master and while he never formally joined the Luth Maica (charmed blades) he trained under Shael who was the leader of the Luth Maica and learned some things from him that was exclusive knowledge of the Charmed Blades. Making him an eldritch knight.
In order to become a Blade Master you need to either kill a blade master in battle where it can be witnessed or be judged by 3 different blade master to be worthy of the title. The title of Dai'shan is for life, traditionally Dai'shan get the symbol tattooed on their neck and on the back of their dominant hand. The symbol is an ouroboros entwined in an eternity symbol with a sword through the middle.
