Giant Mushrooms of Emycelium

Dominating the swamps, rainforests, grasslands and mountain regions of Emycelium are giant mushrooms. These monolithic organisms weave their mycelium throughout the entire planet, even reaching down to the very core.

Tower Faucet

Called home by the water-loving marinis, tower faucet mushrooms are endemic to the Spirit Isles. They stand almost twenty feet tall, continuously dripping water from pores in their caps. One wonders where this water comes from, as it is capable of fueling their homes and more.

Boiled Stinkshroom

These large epiphytic mushrooms grow on the sides of grand oak trees. They are classified as a pest, simply because the smell is so offputting serukians don’t want to live anywhere near them.

Ropeheld Fungi

Ropeheld fungi have their myecelial roots slithering around the gilded rainforest. These roots are covered in a thick sludgy substance, which makes it difficult for anything to get a grip. Many believe that this fungi species is carnivorous, and that the sludge traps smaller creatures, slowly broken down by powerful digestive enzymes.

Powderspore

Powderspores, as their name would suggest, produce spores in the form of a thick, stodgy powder. This powder can be eaten, and tastes lovely as a spice, used in fried mushroom recipes. Powderspores can be a nuisance in large quantities, as the spores make breathing difficult.

Sonãr Cap

Sonãr caps have hallucinogenic capabilities. When ingesting the spores, one will experience the most perplexing of dreams. Many experience visions predicting the future, both positive and negative, some will turn crazy from visions, and some just have a lovely time. What causes these hallucinations remains unknown to serukians.

My favourite artists released this song yesterday (4th December, 2023), and I thought it's a really weird song so of course I want to reference it in my world.

Jewelled Finger

These magnificent mushrooms tower over the Gilded Rainforest, growing up to a hundred feet tall. They are adorned with little lumps and bumps, which glow and shimmer in the moonlight. Some serukians in the Gilded Rainforest will grow bonsai versions, to decorate their homes with.

Hollow Hole Mushroom

As its name implies, this mushroom species is naturally hollow. Of course, serukians turned these mushrooms into their homes, as these fungi are found worldwide and are perfect at providing shelter for these people.

Sugar Snap Morel

These fungi can reach up to ten feet in height. Entirely edible, during holiday seasons it's common for seukians in the Spirit and Waterway Isles to harvest a single one of these mushrooms, roasting it on a giant spitfire.

A vital part of marini cuisine, grandeur puffballs can be transformed into countless meals, snacks, dishes, candies, even drinks. These are the smallest mushrooms on the list, but even then they can grow up ot five feet in diameter.
