Razhean
Razheans are studious sophonts. They are one of the most plentiful species within the Milky Way and its neighbouring galaxies, with an estimated population slightly exceeding a hundred trillion.
Razheans have been travelling through space for thousands of years. Their technology is extremely advanced, spacecrafts never faltering. As a community, their focus is on evolving their understanding of the universe and studying the peoples and cultures of the galaxies they inhabit. All the information they gather is stored within Mastermind, a highly advanced artificial intelligence system.
In many regions of the Milky Way and the Andromeda Galaxy, more than half of available non-fiction books in public libraries are written by razheans.
Anatomy
A typical razhean reaches no more than a metre and a half in height. Razheans have green skin with a wide spectrum of shades. Most razheans also feature bold spots around their neck, shoulders, and back. The colour of these spots are an inherited feature, and spots of all colours are common.
Razheans have a small thin tail with a bushy end. The tail sticks out of traditional razhean clothing and is heavily decorated. Tattoos and piercings are common.
Razheans are traditionally humanoid. They have short arms and legs, often equipped with robotic enhancements. Some razheans have permanent attachments to their bodies, an investment considered worthwhile for many.
Humanoid hand projectors are a popular tool used by razheans to enhance their abilities. Some go so far as to have them fixed onto their arms, used at all times.
Diet
One main factor in their success as a species is their diet. Razheans are not fussy people and can safely digest most foods. Many foods manufactured and sold in space are designed for razhean consumption, since they are the most common species. Their dietary requirements are tended to first, leaving other species to manufacture their own food, or cope with what is available.
Digesting hardy plant matter was once a necessity for razheans. Their home planet was, and still is, inhabited by thick thorny plants. Razhean digestive systems are tough, but thanks to thousands of years of soft produced foods, such a strong digestive system is no longer needed.
What do you want to eat, son? Pop-tarts? Pop-pies? Pop-pizzas? Pop-waffles? Pop-corn? Just nothing over 5 charms, I don't get paid until the weekend.
Behaviour
Razheans are generally quite friendly people. They are quick to bond with other species, and as a result have formed many strong alliances with nations across the Milky Way and surrounding galaxies. Despite being friendly, razheans have a rarely seen explosive temper.
These people are quick learners. Most razheans are multilingual, 99% of the population speaking razhish, among other common languages. Many razheans donate their time as volunteers in many education-based sectors. Some enjoy offering their services to understaffed laboratories, while others support local libraries.

Major Organisations
Convocations
Many planets have populations of razheans, from thousands to billions. Each planet is home to its own Convocation, distributing knowledge of said planet to a greater razhean conscience in space.
Data is transferred to the Mastermind, an artificially intelligent databank containing all information gathered by the species.
Razheans are fond of the concept of organisations. The Galactic Library Association was founded by Epil Eodin, a famed razhean. To this day it remains a dominant organisation in the Milky Way, dictating what tomes, novels, and texts can be stored in public libraries.
Razheans make up a large percentage of the Milky Way Institute of Biology, Taxonomy, and Conservation and Milky Way Waste Disposal Council workforces. Around five hundred razheans are employed in the A to Zoo.
History
Prehistory
Razheans are native to the planet Razhea Capita, in the Cantyma System of the Milky Way. They first appeared around fifty million years ago, showing early signs of hightened intelligence and awareness of their surroundings.
Their intelligence gave them the edge against competitors in their ecosystems. Hunting tools became more advanced, and razheans discovered magic far quicker than most other sophonts.
Early razheans were earth and water benders. They manipulated rivers to spread across vast crop fields, helping them grow as much food as possible. Their ability to communicate with animals meant that hunting was easier. Magic was not just used for food - it became the basis of early razhean culture.
Pre-Space Age
The more powerful wielders of magic served as deities in razhean culture across the planet. Thousands of years passed, and razhean culture leaned more towards rationality as opposed to faith. Deities became a thing of the past as razheans now idolised the Mastermind, a super AI designed to store all knowledge razheans have learned throughout their history.
Space Age
Mastermind led the species into the Space Age, which begun seven and a half thousand years ago. The first spacecrafts were unreliable, but it got them past the Cantyma System's edge and on a nearby rogue planet. While those razheans never made it back to Razhea Capita, information about this new planet were sent to, and stored in, Mastermind.
Highly intelligent sophonts were discovered on this rogue planet, and valuable knowledge was exchanged between the two species. A friendship was formed, and razheans were given guidance on constructing safer spacecrafts, designed for prolonged space travel.
The next vehicles deployed were completely stable, making several round trips from Razhea Capita to its moon, Saventi. It was a groundbreaking feat that catapulted the razhean species into its Space Age.
Over the seven and a half thousand years until present day, razheans began perfecting their spacecraft designs, all the while exploring ever-farther in the Milky Way.
I love this! :frog with heart emoji: The razheans sound like a species I’d happily cohabitate and cooperate with, and I’d definitely find a Hand Projector useful in my daily life, as I am 1.5 metres tall myself. XD What a great article! I look forward to seeing more about the razheans’ adventures with space , magic, and Mastermind. :3
aaa thank youu! I can't believe I guessed the height right xD
Really, this article is surprisingly on the nose. Especially everything being just out of reach! XDDD
