Luna

Luna is the only natural satellite orbiting planet Earth. It is a desolate moon, with just a few native lifeforms and a less-than-thriving colony of inhabitants from faraway worlds. What caused them to seek refuge on Luna is anyone's guess - this moon possesses almost no valuable resources, has an incredibly thin atmosphere and few lifeforms, and is located dead-center in Jovian territory.

Luna was given its name by Earth's previous inhabitants, the now-extinct humans. It is officially within Jupiter's territory, but the Lunaian colony of Selene is fighting for independence, and refuse to follow Jovian laws.

Climate & Inhabitants

Luna has an average temperature of around five degrees Celsius, a permanent, bitter cold. Frozen whirlwinds rage around the poles of this moon, while more central regions have a still, almost unsettling climate. There is a significant lack of water or ice on Luna, residents resorting to moisture farms and shipments of glacial ice from Daglaci Ice Provisions to survive. Flora and fauna are scarce, most species filter feeding aeroplankton.

Luna has an unusual atmosphere that seems to slowly mutate DNA. If something is not born on Luna, but finds its way on the moon, its DNA will slowly begin to change, causing random mutations.

Since Selene is made up entirely of foreign inhabitants, every single person has experienced mutations, both positive and negative. Some people have grown extra limbs, others have unusual colour patterns. Some have been observed developing a significant power shift, capable of utilising magic at a much higher level, an extremely rare, fabled mutation.

This made me feel weirdly nostalgic. Maybe because it is a future version of our Moon in a universe where humans barely exist.
