Norrabians Eating Sharks

A long time ago, our people used to eat sharks.
What do you mean? Like, sand sharks?

Sand Shark by Mochi
Yes, exactly. We weren't always so lucky. Years ago, way before you and I were born, norrabians didn't have much. It was around when adamnans first discovered and landed on our planet. They were escaping the horrors of their own lands, and sought refuge upon our planet. We welcomed them, but quickly regretted it.   They took everything from us. They took our land, our friends and family, and claimed everything we had. We lost power, loved ones, truly everything.   At our lowest, we resorted to the most primitive methods of survival. Our ancestors would wander deep into the Looming Desert to hunt down sand sharks of all varieties. These animals were easy to hunt, easy food. They kept us alive.
Native Norrabian by Mochi
We reclaimed a fraction of the power we once had. We no longer have to fight for survival, fight for food, water, or land. That is why we respect sand sharks, and we do not kill them.
Wow... I had no idea. Why wasn't I told about this in school?
I think we wanted to hide that part of us. It's not our best look, after all. But we have to own our history, and be proud of it. We could have easily all died out, but we didn't. We fought for survival, and we won. And now we are reclaiming what used to be ours. One bit at a time.   You know, adamnans once ruled over the entire Lowlands. We were born in the Lowlands, and they took it. They forced us into small villages dotted about, with no way to communicate with one another. We live in one of those historical villages. Our history is crazy.
— Norrabian mother, telling her child about the time norrabians ate sharks.

That's wonderful that the shark was able to go from an animal whose death was necessary to one whose life is venerated.
