Serukian Shroom

Behold, the Serukian Shroom. This is the largest mushroom on the planet. Thanks to a rare nutrient in the soil and perfect weather conditions, this mushroom has grown over eight-hundred feet tall.
People have carved out cities in the stem of this mushroom, and its life-giving and protective properties have kept us safe for thousands of years.
— Tourist guide
The Serukian Shroom is a unique mushroom species found on the planet Ivucarro. The mushroom is the only one of its kind, growing on the third largest continent, Ezerea. The Serukian Shroom is home to the largest civilisation of metraphites, an intelligent gastropod species.

Anatomy

The Serukian Shroom is the largest mushroom on the planet, at over 800 feet tall. The cap is a golden colour, with yellow and orange stripes around the rim. On the underside of the cap, there are two thousand and fifty gills, sat neatly against each other.

The stem of the Serukian Shroom is 450 feet wide. The stem is wide at ground level, and is shaped similar to a butternut squash of Earth.

Maridon Civilisation

For two thousand years, a small group of metraphites colloquially known as the maridons have called the Serukian Shroom home. When they first encountered the mushroom after searching for a new home, they discovered a mysterious aura surrounding it that seemingly protected them from injuries.

They settled down around it, constructing small red houses around its base, hoping that the aura would protect their race. After twenty years of peace, they decided to carve out the interior of the mushroom and create their home inside it. Careful not to carve out too much and kill it, they merged their houses with the Serukian Shroom and today they live in perfect harmony with it and the environment.

That's an enormous mushroom! Does it have a mycelium network underground and release tons of spores, or is it only a surface structure?

This mushroom has a biiiiig mycelium network that will be getting its own article! Expect it during WE, if not tonight xD It doesn't release spores as I want this to be the only one of its species, but I haven't figured out why. Thank you for liking and commenting! <3

This is a lot of fun! That's a big mushroom and so smart to learn to live within it to make symbiotic use of its magic.
