Void Insanity

CW: Mentions of self-harm & suicide

Void insanity is one of the most despised and horrifying diseases in the Yonderverse. It is contracted when one spends too much time in isolation in the depths of space and drives themselves to commit suicide.

Cause & Symptoms

A common cause of void insanity is the Journey To Nin Tara. It is an arduous journey through space to the Edge of the Yonderverse in search of a mysterious treasure nobody knows for sure is real. Due to the lengths people to go and the time they spend in space alone in their spacecrafts, people start to go insane.

Symptoms:
  • Insanity & Hallucinations: Many people start having hallucinations of lost loved ones, trauma, and a whole host of other dark thoughts.
  • Elevated Anger & Stress: Those with void insanity are roughly 300% more angry and stressed.
  • Self Harming: Most people with void insanity relieve their insanity by self-harming.
  • Suicide: Every single person who contracts void insanity commits suicide, whether it is jumping into space, hanging, or other methods.
  • Nin Tara

According to countless legends and stories, at the very edge of the Yonderverse is Nin Tara, a cave formed out of nothing, yet contains everything within. Everything one could dream of. Nin Tara is believed to contain a treasure that manifests into whatever individual that discovers the cave's greatest desires.

However, because of the size of the Yonderverse and the fact that the majority of space is void of anything, there are no directions to Nin Tara. Many will fly in a singular direction in their spacecrafts and pray to a deity that they have gone in the right direction, only to be cursed with void insanity and lose their lives just days later.
