The currency of North and South Azure are different. The coins of the two continents are made of the same materials of Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Copper. What is different about the coins is the realm it comes from. North Azure and South Azure do not recognize each other coins. A wise adventure should carry an assortment of coins depending on where you go. The exchange rate is 5% to get the current currency of the continent you are on. A diligent adventure who travels and explores the many runes, old villages, dungeons, or wrecked ships are more than likely able to find a mixture of coinage from both continents. You might even find coins from foreign country's.
The most
common currency on either continent is
Drachma (N Azure) or Denarius (S Azure) Other types of coins such as Shekels (NA) or Denarius (SA) are carried, but for safety reasons you would not want to display them in public. Big purchases are usually done in private where the bigger valued coins Talents (NA) and Kraken (SA) can be used safely. Depending on the size of a town or city will determine as a whole how much coin the merchants will have in that town. Goods can be shipped to bigger cities by boat or trade caravans for a fee. The banking system in North Azure is ran by the Glittergem gnome family who have been serving the Pendragon line since the beginning. Their establishments are know as the
Glittergem Jewelers. These banks and gem exchangers are set up in most small cities and above. The going rate for coin to gems is Three percent, or vise versa.
Dragon Orbs are special orbs that have a magical aurora around them. There is a orb for each species of dragon. These orbs are used to buy magical items in the magic shops. Magic items can only be bought by a Dragon Orb. Coins can be traded to get the dragon orbs. When this is done its recorded by the acolytes and sent to Merlin. Magic items are tracked by Merlin and must be registered in the kingdom. Some magic items will not be allowed on Azure. If an adventure should stumble on these powerful magic items they will be compensated for it. All magic items found in runes, castles, ship wrecks ect ect must be reported to closest magic shop.
Dwarven currency is based on 1:1 ratio. The coins that you would use to purchase items or sell needs to be in weight measurements that are put on a scale and weighed to make sure that the value is equal to what you asking or selling. Dwarves only carry coins if they are in a foreign land.
Egyptian currency is a complete barter system. They do not use any form of coin at all. They will carry coins for foreign purchase if they are in a foreign country.
Most off all the other humanoids use the following coins system based on where you are from.
