The Calendar System for all the realms of YonZora.

Overview:
  • The calendar system of YonZora was established by the Council of Tranquility following the devastating fall of the Zavabu Empire and the mysterious vanishing of Atlantis in -5000 AD. In a single day, Zavabu's immense power was obliterated, drastically altering the political and social landscape across all realms. This event spurred the Council of Tranquility to create a unified system for all people and cultures of YonZora, setting the foundations for unity and trade. The system is structured around the Greek and Roman pantheons for months and the Egyptian and Norse pantheons for days, honoring the most widely revered deities.
  Time Structure:   One day:
  •  A 24-hour period.
  Year length:
  •  365 days, with 360 days counted on the calendar and five "holiday" days that do not count.
  Month:
  •  30 days.
  Week:
  • Known as a "Ten-day," each month is divided into three Ten-day periods, each with 10 days.
  Uncounted Holidays
  • There are five holidays, each lasting 24 hours and not counted in the official calendar. These are tax-free, universally celebrated days, placed strategically between certain months to simplify the year into 360 calendar days.

History

Historical Context and Significance    -5000 AD
  • The Zavabu Empire's oppressive control limited communication and alliance among realms. However, Atlantis's sudden disappearance reshaped power dynamics, encouraging realms to unify under the Council of Tranquility. After seven years of debate and negotiation, a global calendar, trade currency, and language were agreed upon, greatly benefiting economic stability and cultural exchange across YonZora. This calendar symbolizes the first global cooperation, representing a shared desire for peace and prosperity in a post-Zavabu world.

Significance

The establishment of YonZora’s calendar system marked a pivotal moment in its history, as it was the first instance of all realms coming together to reach a worldwide accord. The Zavabu Empire, under a regime known for its harsh and oppressive tactics, had long dominated the political landscape, exerting control over most realms and severely limiting their ability to communicate or form alliances. The sudden disappearance of Atlantis—the empire's capital and symbol of power—transformed the power dynamics across YonZora, ending Zavabu's dominance and opening opportunities for unity and cooperation.   In response to this shift, leaders from various realms convened to form the Council of Tranquility. This council’s primary mission was to create a unified calendar system, along with a shared trade currency and common language, fostering easier communication and collaboration among the realms. Over seven years, representatives from every region worked together, overcoming historical divides to establish these standardized systems.   The adoption of this unified calendar, currency, and language created a foundation for economic growth, enabling smoother trade and more reliable alliances across YonZora. By setting a shared cultural framework, the Council of Tranquility strengthened ties among the realms and solidified a collective identity, marking the end of Zavabu's isolationist policies and ushering in an era of prosperity and mutual understanding.
