Jo'deh

A wry, wise and kind-hearted Shaman of the Tortles of the southern reaches of the Festering Marshes, Jo'deh gives the appearance of being ponderous and somewhat befuddled, but in truth his wits are sharp and his skill at magic even sharper.
In particular he is a master Songline Walker. The Songlines are arteries of geomantic energy which crisscross the globe and are the source of power for shamanic magic. When a Tortle reaches the end of his or her life he or she "walks the Songline", singing spontaneous esoteric verses that lead them to a blissful demise and union with the Great Tortle.
Shamans such as Jo'deh have learnt to walk the Songlines, survive, and harvest their intrinsic arcane energy before returning to their villages and imparting the wisdom they have gathered.
