Gearhardt Halfstout

(a.k.a. The Traitor)

Gearhardt Halfstout was the leader of the Gearhardt Rebellion . He was killed at The Battle of Svundar by Gerwin Farlawn
At one time, Gearhardt Halfstout was a chief advisor on the High Council, as well as the best friend of King Urstin Farlawn . 
Gearhardt assisted Urstin Farlawn in the settlement of Yorn and is credited with having helped save the kingdom of Oster. When the Empire of New Oster was decreed and King Urstin began to lay out plans for expanding his kingdom, Gearhardt opposed him. Gearhardt argued that expansion would cause friction between the Osterians and the native Yornish, particularly the nation of Tuath to the north. Eventually, the disagreement reached a tipping point and Gearhardt resigned his seat on the High Council and volunteered to establish a settlement for New Oster to the south.
Gearhardt established the city of Svundar along the southern tip of Yorn, and it wasn't long before it wasn't long until it began to rival Faithful Rest, the capital of New Oster, in both size and economic development. It was at this time that royal informants informed King Farlwan that they suspected Halfstout of communing with dark forces and planning to depose the King. Gearhardt Halfstout was quickly labeled a traitor and a warrant was issued for his capture. Halfstout and his city of Svundar replied by raising an army and marching north to Faithful's Rest launching Gearhardt's Rebellion.
