The three teenagers listen with rapt attention as Agatha continues her tale.

"They say, to this day," her voice drops to a whisper, forcing her audience to lean in closer, "the spirit of Mrs. Abernathy haunts that old house. In the dead of night, her sobs echo down the halls, as she searches for the bodies of her children."

Agatha stops and lets the silence carry her words for just a few seconds. One of the teens shivers, completely missing the subtle tap tap tap of Agatha's nail on the counter. Responding to the cue, Agatha's mostly-black cat leaps onto the counter and hisses at the teens before bounding away into the shadows again.

The teens jump back with a collective scream. One of them is so startled her legs give out, landing her flat on the coffee shop floor. As Agatha cackles, the teens pick up on the joke and try to laugh along. They grab their drinks - each adorned with a latte art skull - and sit at the best-lit table they can find.

Agatha decides not to tell them about the real ghost sitting at the fourth chair.

Woman In Total Control of Herself

Forty-going-on-sixty, Agatha's mass of curly hair is as grey as it black. Her petit frame shows the wear of years she hasn't yet lived, and her eyes the wisdom of lessons she hasn't learned. Not personally, anyway.
All this began a few years ago, after a near-death experience that left her stranded at sea. Since then, she's been able to see and speak with the lingering spirits of the deceased. She's gained strange abilities: magic not dissimilar from telekinesis and a knack for breaking electronics.
Now that she's learned how to control them, these abilities are proving useful for Agatha and her ghost-themed coffee shop. Her shop is known for the skull-shaped latte art, eerie decor, and the ghost stories she tells to great effect. Being able to see the dead and hear their tales has only made her own more visceral.

Margo is a long-time regular at the shop. After realizing Margo believed all of her ghost stories, Agatha began only telling her the true ones.

A member of the coast guard, Dima rescued Agatha from her near-death experience and has been a regular at her coffee shop since.

Clint is Agatha's oldest friend, but she's kept him at a distance ever since she developed her new abilities. She doesn't want to end up on the FBI's "list".

Clint introduced them over a year ago. Naoise quickly caught on to her magic, and in exchange for free coffee, has been secretly teaching her to contol it.
