Also called "sapies", they're a spacefaring species from Earth. Joined the Allied Galactica in 2197.
About 73% of the sapie population currently reside on Earth or in outer colonies, guinea pigs for the Allied Galactica's expansion projects, thus making them targets for Pirate raids. Those that find work on the Galactica edge or inner systems occupy low-skill, high-risk jobs such as deep space construction, mining, and military work. Others resort to criminal work such as smuggling, prostitution, and drug trade.
Despite being past the bar of spacefaring classification, some species regard Humans as no better than primitive exprogs. Having achieved spaceflight and handed every other advancement beyond that without earning the responsibility. Despite evidence of being equal to the average intelligence of most Allied beings, they have yet to "earn" their place.
