Lloth

The Spider Queen. Goddess of the Drow. The ancient enemy of Eldonna, she achieved divinity by attaching a thread to Eldonna's boot and following her into the heavens.
In truth, she was once the twin sister of Eldonna, Llothellenell, but was given to Harlequin due to an ancient law that all twins must be split between Oberon and Harlequin. She was picked to give away due to a single grey mole on her cheek, making her "less beautiful". Harlequin made that grey skin spread to her entire body. She was raised by Harlequin, as a little more than a doll at first, but then her body was used as a breeding ground for a creature he was creating, called spiders. After centuries of torment, she eventually gained power of these creatures, and her body changed to resemble one herself. When she finally grew strong enough to run away, however, she was mistaken for a monster by Girallon and Eldonna. Hunting parties came to slay her, and eventually, Eldonna, but the future goddess spared her due to a strange, familiar sense of pity. After that, she clung to Eldonna's shoe by a piece of thread and ascended to divinity, where the gods demanded she be destroyed. Eldonna, feeling pity once more, instead banished her down into the depths of the Abyss, where she formed a great web and swore vengeance on Eldonna. Once Molgleem led the other banished elves, who refused to forgive Eldonna for losing their immortality, grew desperate, Lloth sent them visions, leading them into a cave, where their skin turned grey like hers and they became The Drow.
