Feral Elves of the Chuulth Jungle

The Chuul'res, also known as jungle elves, wild elves, or feral elves, are the elves of the Chuulth Jungle, a relatively narrow (at least in a geographical sense) strip of jungle that forms the border between the Blasted Lands and the rest of the continent of Rhyduania. Their name means, "The Shattered People." The environment the Chuul'res live in is a hellish nightmare to most other races. It's a land of monstrous animals and animalistic monsters, carnivorous plants, and an ever present reek of sulfur. With the seemingly never ending supply of phosphorous and sulfur seeping into everything, sometimes even the puddles of standing water seem to be trying to eat you. The Chuul'res have come to resemble their habitat: hostile, voracious and unquestionably violent. While it's clear they're intelligent, no one has reported successful communication with them for hundreds of years. Anyone to come across them and live usually is simply grateful to have survived the encounter. Most Chuul'res have a russet skin tone, with dark brown hair tied down in corn rows or other braids, or knotted up in dreadlocks. Some individuals have been seen to have bleached their dreadlocks to a blonde color. All Chuul'res have green streaks, patches and flecks in their hair. This is a kind of moss they seem to have developed some kind of symbiotic relationship with. Due to this relationship, given enough sunlight, a Chuul'res can survive longer without food than a member of another race.
