Order of the Unblooming Flower

The Order of the Unblooming Flower is a denomination of the religion of Asta. Mostly, it's a monastic order of celibate men and women, who seek personal contentment and fulfillment through meditation and exploration of the self. They seek a goal of perfect self-enlightenment, achieving a personal nirvana of self love.   The Unblooming Flower is starkly different from the image of other celibate orders as ascetic and strict with spartan living conditions. The order lives in conditions that are luxurious by the standards of other monastic orders. Bright decorations, comfortable furniture, glowing braziers to provide warmth throughout the building. Common areas are often filled with elaborate and luxurious sitting pillows, arranged about the room in circles for discussions among followers.   The order is also much more social in nature than most monastic orders, with members spending much of their day in discussion with each other in common areas, about religious concepts, and sharing with each other their personal journeys to enlightenment. Members often grow close to each other, and expressing their affection with each other is both commonplace and accepted, often group discussions are held with several members engaged in cuddling and embracing each other.   Despite this affectionate behavior, sexual congress is forbidden to the followers. An inability to find satisfaction within one's self and independent from others marks one as not cut out for this path to enlightenment. As worshipers of Asta, the order doesn't deem sex to be in any way sinful, just an indicator that a person's path to enlightenment is more appropriately pursued on a path other than the Unblooming Flower. Such members must leave the monastery, but usually do so on amicable terms: given a week to prepare, and often with a "going away party" to send them off. In some monasteries, there exists a tradition that if the offending sexual congress occurred between two members of the order, they be asked during their going away party to repeat the sexual act for the rest of the monastery to observe, so that the monks of the order may better understand the full nature of their goddess. This request is performed on a purely consensual basis, and there is no stigma to refusing.   Members of the Unblooming Flower are often virgins, but virginity is not a requirement to join. Racially, they are diverse, but are predominantly humans, Diz'res elves, and Torvar dwarves. Occasionally Nomoi and Oceonoi gnomes join. Other races exist in the order, but are exceedingly rare. The monastic garb of the order is composed mostly of chitons and similar clothing: well-ventilated and with comfort in mind. The clothing is often scanty and revealing by the standards of those outside the order, but utmost comfort is the goal, rather than titillation. Members are technically referred to as monks, but very rarely do members take actual monk class levels.
