Requirements

Queens of Athering must be female and of the Zarqon family line. Often they are the eldest daughter in a generation, but sometimes Queenship passes through siblings in the case of death or Legal Challenge.

Appointment

A Queen's Ensceptering happens on her 30th birthday. The ceremony takes all day, and is preceded by mental and spiritual preparation on the part of the heir. A high priestess of The Aradian Order guides the Princess through the ceremony & confers upon her the title of Queen when it's clear the Goddesses have blessed her.

Accoutrements & Equipment

Sceptre The Sceptre is the main symbol of rule in Athering and, along with the Crown and Ring, forms the triad of Queen's Jewels. It is said to be made of pure gold, but this is fantasy; a pure gold sceptre would be far too heavy for a Queen to carry in her day to day duties. More likely it is made of an alloy that is plated with gold, to give it its golden appearance. Crown The crown is made of silver twisted like vines, with a motif of stars around it. Ring The Queen's signet ring has several jewels around it. It's said to represent all corners of her reiaume.
