Lich
A lich is a necromancer who has removed their own Soul, and uses other being's Souls, stored in a Phylactery, to continue living. A lich can be killed normally, but before completely dying, the Soul they were using will be replaced with one of the other Souls from their Phylactery. The only ways to truly kill a lich are to kill them enough times that they run out of Souls, or to destroy their Phylactery. A lich can have more than one Phylactery at once.

Interspecies Relations and Assumptions
A common misconception regarding liches is that they look like animated skeletons when in fact, a lich cannot typically be visually identified as any different from a normal person. This misconception comes from a particularly infamous lich with a flair for the dramatic who somehow found a way to to remove most of the flesh from his body while still maintaining his ability to live. Exactly how he managed this is unknown, and of the few who have tried to replicate it, none have survived.
