History
Tieringer's Syndrome is named after the first documented case of the condition, Berent Tieringer. Berent first showed signs of the condition at the age of thirteen. At first, it was annoying, but harmless. However, as time went on, the amount of energy being channeled escalated, having adverse effects on both Berent and the world around him. At the age of fifteen, Berent died from Magical Stress.
In the cases since, those afflicted have displayed wildly varying initial severities and escalation rates. To this day, doctors are baffled as to the source of the affliction as well as if it can be cured.
Cultural Reception
Because of the mysterious nature of Tieringer's Syndrome, as well as its danger to not only the afflicted, but also those around them, people who suffer from Tieringer's Syndrome are often feared and sometimes ostracized, even after obtaining a Magic Inhibitor.
