(a.k.a. The Mushroom Sage)
Outcast is a Firbolg of Zhen Gho. From his name it is evident he has been kicked out of his clan. If asked he will not speak about the long ago past. He is a druid of the circle of spores, which is made very evident by his clothing and staff. His robes have mushrooms poking through different pockets and his staff has the crown of a mushroom on the top of it. He is very direct and speaks right to the point. He makes it clear he believes in symbiotic relationships and that we need to live in harmony with nature. He does not speak of or with many other Firbolg and seems almost to avoid them.
He seems very kind and a wise soul. He loves to talk of his travels and research. A large part of his teaching method is to point out connections to different events, locations, beings, and anything else he can to those around him. After awhile it can get a bit on people's nerves, especially if they are just trying to have a normal conversation. While his demeanor is quite soft and that of a mentor, no one should mistake that he is a very powerful and fearsome druid. He commands the power of nature with ferocity and understanding. It can be counted on no more than two hands the number of druids in his power level.
Physical Description
Outcast is an older Firbolg. As such he has very grey skin that is quite wrinkled. He has inset eyes that are a bit greyed from his long life. He arches his back a bit more now, but when casting spells does seem to stand up to his full height again.
He is always known for two items he has with him at all times. The first is his hat which covers his head and a bit of his upper back. It is made out of a large mushroom and through magical means has been made to last longer. It has lost most of its colors but continues to hang on. The other item he always has is his staff. It is a straight stalk made up of many mushroom stalks pressed together. The top is a mushroom crown that seems the most vibrant part of him.
Mental characteristics
He has had no formal education of any kind. He learned his initial training of druidic knowledge from his Firbolg tribe he is no longer a part of. However after that he has learned a great deal from exploration and experience. He suffers from almost a form of wanderlust. He never seems to stay in one area for more than a couple weeks at a time. He is constantly traveling and moving around. When asked why he does this, he always replies with new experiences await him.
Having explored a good portion of Zhen Gho he has been many places and accomplished quite a bit. One that he is very well known for is the saving of the Sherwird Forest. A great evil sorcerer had made his tower in the forest and was raising dead of all sorts along with destroying the forest to build war machines. He intended to attack the nearby city and invade them. Outcast happened to be traveling through the area and the people asked if he would look into the matter. He agreed he would investigate but made no promises outside of that.
When he began to adventure into the forest he discovered the extent to which the sorcerer had begun to destroy the forest and the living creatures. In a grand battle that lasted a couple of weeks Outcast finally found himself facing the sorcerer head to head at the top of his tower. The sorcerer began a great blaze in the forest and challenged Outcast to either kill him or save the wood and creatures. Watching the sorcerer get away Outcast began to work the entire night to quell the fire and save the remaining creatures of the woods along with the city.
When he returned they tried to reward him with riches and prestige but he refused them all. He said that he did not deserve them as the sorcerer was still at a large. He would keep his eyes open for him and attempt to finish what he had started. To this day it is commonly held that he has not meet the sorcerer again.
Some question his moral choices based upon civilized manners. However others will point out that because he holds nature as the highest authority his morals are guided by that principal. He has been known to let people die in order to save a natural area, creature, or something of that nature. Although he does highly value symbiotic relationships between nature and people. He will protect those above everything. Along with that he will attempt to help those symbiotic relationships go back to a more natural state if they have evolved. In this way he is a druid through and through and is not afraid to show that side of himself.
Social
He has contact with many different druidic circles and orders. However he is not a member of any of them. In fact he will refuse no matter what they offer to be a part of their order. It seems to stem from his origial outcast from his own tribe. He operates as a lone wolf.
He believes that the Zhen Gho pantheon are indeed powerful figures. However he does not worship them as deities. He will always say that nature and the primal world conquers all. What do the gods do when their shrines are overtaken by the creeping corrosion of nature? The only deity he remotely accepts is Cheng, God of the wilderness, but even then he respects him for his power and adherence to the natural powers.
His speech isn't slow as if he forgets the words or aging. No it seems as though he speaks carefully choosing each phrase and word very carefully. It is said that he doesn't want to be misunderstood by those who listen to him. This makes many turned off from conversation with him initially. Those that stick around rave about the wisdom and insight he has passed onto them.
