Typical Whistle

Down below in The Under Realm lies many dangers. Some much more dangerous then others. Adventurers find themselves in many perils and constantly fighting for their lives. However, there is one legend many speak of in high regard. That is of a strange tavern down below. It seems to very out of place. Behind a very basic door with soft light coming from the small square pain of glass rests the Typical Whistle. The amazing effect of this tavern is that it seems to repeal the monsters of the Under Realm and adventurers can find safety and rest there.

Upon entering you will find lively chatter and music playing from a bard in the corner. Behind the bar a middle aged halfling moves around getting drinks and serving food. His name is Segrid Turntimber. He will regale you with the tale of how he founded this place about two hundred years ago off money he had earned down here. More than likely he will offer you a Whistler, the signature drink of the Typical Whistle. When you drink this hints of pomegranite and blueberry are mixed in a strong liqiour that pairs very well and has a great fruity taste.

Walking around the tavern there are many people enjoying the drinks, food, and rest. There are however some regulars that everyone will know of. There is Shun, Tiana, and Vincent. Shun is a Tiefling who use to be an adventurer in the land as whas a wuite accomplished bard. He will tell you tale after tale of his exploits with the High Jinks and how they saved Tsiyo a small village.

But you know that now Tsiyo is actually a rather large town....that's weird.

Well another person to talk to is Tiana, a young very pretty human. Her stories invovle her helping through out the land as a caster. She will admit though, that her magic was a bit on the wild side. Though she never officially joined another group, she mainly worked as added muscle when others needed some help. Right on the top of her stories is about working for the Governor of Inkonai Governor Fel Shua.

But that can't be right. You know for a fact the governor of Inkonai is Governor Sho-Han Ti...this is very odd.

The last person Segrid had mentioned was Vincent. Vincent is a large very muscular orc. He speaks of amazing sparing matches, his monestary, and how he was the strongest fighter in all the land. You can tell he is especially proud of starting a small martial arts school.

But as he mentions them you know that this school is very large, and master Vincent rings a bell from about 200 years ago. Something very strange is going on.

The more you question these strange facts the more the people of the Typical Whistle seem to be questioning it themselves and getting a tad hostile. Suddenly as all of it comes to light they transform from their normal selves to incorporeal spirits and ghosts and begin to converge on you. Just when you think you'll have to fight your way out another halfling appears the door playing a flute. The spirits and ghosts back away and slowly return to their selves from before, again talking and drinking as if nothing had happened. The halfling motions you over to a table and makes a gesture for Segrid to bring over Whisters for everyone. As the drinks arrive and Segrid walks away he begins to speak

"Sorry about that," a heavy accent accompanies his voice making a couple words difficult to decipher, "Happnes whenver they learn the truth. My name is Wilzin Fernshine. I am the protector of this place. But many usually know me as the God of Hearth, Home, and Drink. During the time of Heroes I arose to Godhood and took my place as the drink loving and tavern owning bard I was. About 500 years ago I noticed the strangeness of this place and came to investigate. I became trapped and my memory has been a tad different as of late. Mainly I can't remember what is down below in the third level, only that is something terrible. So in that light I built this place to give a place for the souls that die here to rest. Otherwise they are doomed to roam or be gobbled up by what lies below. I come around every 20 years or so to check on the place and reinstitute the spell. I wish you well on your journey and know you can come here for rest, and if the worst should happen I will try to bring you here in the afterlife."
