Government
Laresi is controlled by the will of the Enda'ka, the Matriarch of village waheya society. Each waheyan village has their own Enda'ka, and while there are a series of cultural practices that persist throughout all waheyan people, generally each village is self-sufficient only answering to their own Enda'ka.
Defences
Laresi's primary defence is their placement so high up in the jungle canopy. Species without the ability to traverse the jungle easily, or climb as easily as they walk, are unlikely to be able to face a waheyan on even footing in their home village. In addition, the jungle canopy provides natural camouflage, with their architecture blending into the jungle around them. Finally, the dense canopy and high temperatures has proven to be fairly effective at obscuring Laresi from fairly primitive scanning technology. Laresi would be able to be found by the advanced and home-grown technology of the Chyçurish, but most foreign and non-specific radar are unable to penetrate the jungle. Waheya are one with the jungle, Laresi a part of it, as much as it is built within it. Most radar measuring electrical current would not be able to differentiate between waheya and tree, or nest and tree, so entwined they are with the essence of the world. Temperature and density are likewise obscured by Tantsuy's natural properties.
Districts
While Laresi has no regulated or strictly defined districts within the village's bounds, there is a general understanding that the various 'nests' around the village are loosely grouped together in the various roles that persist in waheya society. The unmated males of the Et'war, S'dare and T'vesa ranks bunk together with others of their rank, and the harem groups often claim spaces nearest to the centre of the village, to provide the best protection for their La'mya. There is, of course, no regulation specifically determining such, merely a combination of convenience and tradition.
Assets
Of late, Laresi is host to ten human females. Given that it will soon be discovered that human females are reproductively compatible with waheya, Laresi will find themselves the focus of envy for some of the other villages, or shunned for their choices to dilute their race by others.
Architecture
The waheyan village of Laresi is build into the tree tops of the Tantsuy jungle, a few days travel via the trees to the capital city of Mba Jukfi. The T'vesa of the waheya are skilled craftsmen, and their abodes are constructed on top of woven platforms of vines and plant fibre in a web-like pattern to provide a flexible floor. Sleeping chambers are known as 'nests' by the waheya, and while they always have a web platform strung between tree trunks, walls are not essential in waheyan architecture. While privacy is valued by some, it is not always considered necessary by others. The permanent nests located in the village are more likely to have walls, however S'dare (also known as Blades), spend a lot of time out of the village in the wilds. There they sleep in temporary nests, known as hunting nests, which are more flexible and simpler than the village's nests. They consist only of a web-like floor and are often only suited to accommodate a single waheya. The humans compare hunting nests to the Earth hammocks of their youth.
