The Maiden Mage

Sparks of inspiration, gnawing curiosity, and a drive for progress can all be traced back to Veles. She was born from the spirit of Lyna in remembrance of the curiosity and desire for change that led the Timeless Ones to create Zholmyr and the planes of the Multiverse. Veles has helped impress upon mortals a taste for creativity, ingenuity, and inventiveness. She is the patron of artists, philosophers, and inventors of Zholmyr. Additionally, those with a strong talent in the arcane arts are said to enjoy the favor of Veles, and she is often referred to as the "Maiden Mage" for her aptitude for magic. She and her followers embraces the endless possibilities within the multiverse and rejects limitations like mortality and rationality.
Her inverse is the goddess Stiri. Followers of Stiri will say that Veles and her acolytes are reckless, irresponsible, and dangerous to the legacy of the civilizations of Zholmyr.
Veles is particularly revered throughout the Dhelesian Empire, where she is the patron deity of the Empire's megacity capital of Verkhova. Her massive temple, the Carmine Chancel, sits right in the heart of the city next to the Grand Imperial Palace.

Identifying Characteristics

Common representations show Veles as a very young female with graceful features and a youthful slender face. Her entire being is usually surrounded by a bright halo.  Sometimes she is depicted with a mischievous smile on her face in reference to the impish way she may go about her pursuits. Veles is regarded as the embodiment of the innocence of young imagination.
