Mystra
The Lady of Mysteries
The goddess of all magic. Some believe she tends to the weave to enable all the miracles and mysteries wrought by magic and users of it whilst others believe she is the weave itself and without her no magic would be possible at all.
It is common for mages to make a silent prayer to Mystra before releasing a spell, to give thanks for the spell passing through her weave.
If, as the sages of the White Tower of Glaine believe, Mystra is in fact the weave itself, this would mean she is the most powerful of all gods. In fact could it be possible that in our ignorance we have assigned a divine power to something that is in fact a simple law of nature. I could find no writings describing her taking form in the Golden Age of the Gods as the others did. - Szabo
I should note that my father was a deeply religious man and his questionings were purely intellectual and his faith remained strong. Any rumours to the contrary are baseless gossip and should not be taken seriously. - Lukas
