Session 12: Statues of Limitations Report
General Summary
Earlier the day before, Ash had taken the job of reporting that the Red Legion were operating in the area back to Aofrik Hannara, after a few hours heading back to Quinton, he found a patrol of Seekers heading back that way and passed the message on and headed back to the group with all speed. Stealthily moving through to the cave, he found it easy to follow the trail of the dead who had tried to stop the party, and snuck past a pair of loudly snoring Ogres He found his collegues struggling with a huge stone door that wouldn't budge but with his mighty sinews straining, he was able to push open the huge stone door, with a hiss of escaping air, they saw inside was an undisterbued room filled with the ancient accoutrement of the temple complex, including a shelf filled with Dwarf Ancestor Stones and other various knick knacks and a few other treasures. It also had three very finely made metal chests, two of them were locked, one contained 3 fine dearveb robes in good condition and 3 gold medallions. One of the locked chests was trapped but Grubis managed to disarm this without any trouble and with a helping hand from Ash. There was also a huge black metal safe with a three keyholes. Arenor checked it and is made of a dense, solid metal that he had never seen before. Leaving this behind, the party moved on to follow the trail of the invaders again, coming across a room with 4 plinths with large statues of Dwarf ancestors. In the centre of room was a circle of dwarf runes spelling out "This is a place for the ancestors". Flick, who had pocketed on of the Dwarf Ancestor Stones, places it in a niche she finds in the centre, which opens an alcove, however just as this happens, Red Legion Goblins lanch an ambush. Once the legion soldiers are defeated, the alcove is investigated and is found to contain a brass rod, 20 cm long, with a purple gemstone tip and with a circle at the top with another purple gem. on the shaft of the rods are a series of groves, the party suspects this might be a key for the black metal safe.

While resting, Arenor uses Identify on two weapons they have found on the bodies of enemies. The greataxe is a +1 magic weapon that will increase the users hit points by +1 per level if attuned to. The greatsword is a +1 magic weapon and if the word "Ignis" is spoken, it will burst into magical fire, causing 2d6 extra Fire damage on a hit. When ignited, it sheds bright light in a 40 foot radius and dim light for another 40 foot.
