Session 4: Trouble In Paradise
General Summary
Summary: The party is recalled to Scabberdale to deal with the unexpected resurgence of a long-time enemy.
Resting in the tavern, Ian examines the crystal recovered from the ruins of Bristlebeard, and notices that the individual lights seem to be coalescing in a haze.
As the group finishes making arrangements in Briarwood, Boblin approaches the group in a frenzy. The town of Scabberdale is under attack, and Denisonvona, Scrugg, and Fal-Shavvah have moved north to defend it.
Thanks to Ian's nature expertise and the Goblins' natural stealth, the party arrives in Scabberdale quickly.
Scrugg is nowhere to be found. Much of the town is in flames as Denisonvona and Fal-Shavvah attempt to push back the assault. They are joined by Manzana, a travelling bard who overheard the sounds of the struggle from the nearby forest.
The mysterious figure that attacked Fal-Shavvah arrives with a thrall in tow, dressed in tattered robes. Before departing, the figure bids the thrall to “clean up their mess.”
Upon investigation, the tattered thrall is revealed to be a reanimated Siegurt of Scabberdale, covered with wounds from his encounter with Keerla, Ian, and Enrique.
Battle commences between Siegurt’s forces and the heroes of Scabberdale, with the fate of the town in the balance.
As the battle draws to a close, Scrugg arrives ahead of a full raiding party of Goblins, overwhelming Siegurt's forces and retaking the town gates.
Hamilton is found behind a section of wall, bound and tied after her capture by the foul wizard Siegurt.
