Rhynn Valley
The valley carved by the River Rhynn contains a few notable landmarks as well as a handful of settlements.
To the southwest, the town of Briarwood provides a vital trade market for the riverboats of Rhynn. While certainly not the largest city in the region, Briarwood is home to a wide array of markets, temples, and guildhouses. The docks service dozens of riverboats each day, constantly loading and unloading crates from further up the river.
On the northern end of the valley lies Scabberdale, a small fishing village near the delta. Once a booming mining town, the settlement fell on hard times after the ore veins within Toadstool Cave dried up. Though long past its prime, Scabberdale remains the final port of call on the river before Briarwood.
Bristlebeard Brewery lies in a clearing just north of the Goblinwood, a mangled and twisted region of the Valley Forest home to all manners of abominable creatures. While somewhat remote, Bristlebeard is an official guildhouse of the Rhynn Valley Adventurer's Guild, as well as a vital resupplying point for the forest's many rangers. Between the Guild and the Rhynnvalle Rangers, Bristlebeard's patrons have kept the valley safe from the terrors of the Goblinwood for generations. Without the brewery, the region would surely fall to chaos in short order.
The Goblinwood is home to a staggering variety of things that go bump in the night. While inhabited primarily by various tribes of orcs and goblins, the dark forest provides refuge for all manners of criminals, vagabonds, and outcasts as well. Deep in the woods, far from the ranger patrols, it is said that covens of witches and necromancers practice their vile work, ever plotting to drag the valley into madness and despair.
