Return to Haversmeet Report
General Summary
The Scions decide to return to Haversmeet, the city where their adventuring career truly began, to answer Yuan's request for help and to find Silas Ursinus, who has supposedly been leading a resistance against the Emperor's legions. The Scions find that Haversmeet is experiencing a construction boom and seems to be recovering from Trogdor's attack several years ago. They also notice a number of signs, in front of pretty much every building with scaffolding or with construction equipment out front, noting that the construction is performed under contract by DiLuzzio Solutions and Logistics, a construction company run by none other than Vincenzo DiLuzzio himself. The Scions first stop by The Crooked Gladius, a bar primarily for off-duty soldiers from the Senate's legions. Anton chats with several extremely buff Laconins, who are using giant hams as impromptu kettle bells, and learns that there's an encampment of the Emperor's legions two days north of the city. The party also overhears one soldier complaining about chasing a zombie out of town that seemed to be immune to his weapons. The party then visits Andor's Alchemy, which was destroyed in Trogdor's original attack. Andor is still a pariah in the city, as his reagents set off a massive explosion that leveled several surrounding buildings, but seems to be doing well for himself supplying the Senate's legions with healing supplies and reagants. He mentions a detachment of soldiers escorted a group of Vincenzo's men to some Eladrin ruins recently discovered outside of town, and took a whole bunch of explosive reagents. He also mentions the legion has been stocking up on healing supplies, and that they're definitely up to something. He kicks the Scions out of his shop when Rayuuv threatens to burn it down for protection money. While travelling Elomira notices that the party is being followed by a shadowy figure. When the party attempts to confront the figure, it summons a handful of zombies and attempts to flee. The Scions figure out these aren't normal zombies - they can exhale a cone of fire, similar to a dragonborn, and seem to be immune to all types of damage before they explode. Once the zombies are dealt with the Scions chase the hooded figure, who is intercepted by three men in dark robes - Anton immediately recognizes their fighting styles as those of the Water and Earth dragons. Two of the younger men are severely injured by the hooded figure, who manages to slip away before the Scions or their new allies can stop him. The halfling introduces himself as Daisuke Ironfoot, lead sensei for the Iron Vortex school of the four elements. He mentions that he has been at odds with another sensei named Junjie, at that the only organization serious about investigating the recent plague of undead are various factions of the Four Elements. Anton scolds Daisuke for over-relying on defense, and says the key to the four elements is balance. Daisuke thanks him for the insight, and tells Anton that Yuan will be looking for him. She can normally be found at an inn called The Thirsty Grizzly.
