Silas Ursinus (Sai-las)
Father Silas (a.k.a. The Grizzly)
Silas was a priest tending the Church of Krom in Haversmeet when Trogdor and The Brotherhood of Burnination attacked the town. He quickly rounded up all the townsfolk he could and cast a protection spell on the chapel in an attempt to save the building from any dragon's fire. After seeing the party fight back against the Brotherhood, he donned his old armor and grabbed his maul from the reliquary to join the fight. Silas is convinced that the party was a gift from Krom to save the town. He wrote them a letter of introduction, and pointed them to the imperial capital, Hadrianus, to report what they had learned to the Archbishop. When he learned the party was on trial for heresy, he moved as quickly as he could to the capital to speak on their behalf. Silas helped defend the party from the melee that broke out between the Inquisitors and the Praetorians. After confronting his old friend, Dralin he helped the party escape and vowed to help Yuan rescue Anton's students and bring them to Haversmeet for sanctuary.

Personal history
Silas is a veteran of the Great Serasian Crusade, having served alongside Dralin at the disastrous Battle of the Atraxian Oasis. Silas saw almost his entire unit slaughtered by the legion of undead summoned by Serasian necromancers, but managed to rally the survivors until the few remaining paladins were rescued by Laconian special forces. For his service Silas was awarded the highest honors by both the Emperor and the Archbishop, and was given the prestigious position of guarding the Tomb of the Arch Magi in the Arcanium . When his reports of strange stirrings within the tomb fell on deaf ears, Silas quit the order, took up the cloth, and took over duties as a priest at the newly built church in Haversmeet.
Accomplishments & Achievements
Earned the nickname "The Grizzly" for single-handedly felling a group of ogres with only his maul.
Failures & Embarrassments
Silas knows there is something sinister about the Tomb of the Archi Magi and is upset that his warnings were not taken seriously by the order.
Mental Trauma
Silas is scarred by what he saw in the war. Watching his fellow paladins torn limb from limb by the undead, and then raised by Serasian necromancers to fight their former comrades, convinced him that any war is folly. He still nurses a hatred of undead and necromancy.

Silas is generous and good-hearted. He will always stand up for what is right and champions the causes of the weak and oppressed.
