Session 0.2 - The Blank Omen Report

General Summary

On the morning of the 17th day, Nikolai Vasilovich and Darren Charming set sail aboard the HMS Caldera to reach Fortress Blank, the centre of operations for the North Empire Shipping Company in order to investigate how Slatish may have been involved in the destruction of the HMS Arrowhead. The party met up with Captain Maznel Orblash who headed the journey out of Arcanis to an island North of Ourona where Fort Blank is located.   When Fort Blank was in sight it was swiftly discerned that something was off, as there were no signs of workers in the harbour, and many routine activities had seemingly been abruptly ended. After a careful approach, the party made their way into the fort's main courtyard, whereupon three great beasts were found attacking local dock workers and soldiers; a giant crocodile, a giant scorpion, and a griffon. After a hard-fought battle, a young soldier-in-training Cheyenne defeated the crocodile, the final and strongest of the three beasts. However, the battle resulted in many casualties, including numerous workers, soldiers, some of Captain Maznel's sailors, and Darren Charming, who bled out after taking a severe hit from the giant crocodile. With his dying words, he entrusted his keys to The Lonely Joke Inn to Nikolai Vasilovich, who was left to guide the clean-up.
