Session 10: So...Some Shit Happened Report

Notes

  • We start the session with a short rest while we wait for the druids to return. While short resting we forage and loot the dead Kobolds finding:
  • - 14 unidentified herbs (Henrietta has them) - a +1 shield, some spears
  • After about 2 hours the druids appear, led by a wood elf in a camofaging cloak
  • - Fennian Oakwood, leader of the druids of the Elven Forest - he doesn't really believe in a hierarchy, but he is the one who communes with the Earth Mother - the Earth Mother (he claims) is the deity that gives druids their ability to commune with nature - He knows of th esnow leopards when Smodi asks - He has seen one in the Mountains of Mist, says they are a strong omen - This reminds Arodeyr of the warning Deacon Harold gave to Smodi regarding what would happen if he went to the mountains - He also has met Link in the forest, who remembered the party - He had a message specifically for Smodi - Smodi gave him a Gilded Acorn afterwards - He tells us of a portal within a cave not far from us that could bring us back to Porion - The portal is known only to druids and we are requested to keep its existance a secret - it's only a 1-way trip, with some potentially adverse effects - It must be opened by a druid, and there are others around that can be found in nature, not in the developed world
  • The cave (15min walk away) is blocked by a fallen tree that Fennian Oakwood moves for us
  • - He says to go to the archway, going North - Don't touch the portal before saying the incantation - The cave appears to have been cut by an underground river - After a 20min or so walk we can hear shuffling stones - Amon casts Find Familiar (conjuration magic...) and send his bat in, who sees 3 basilisks - In the ensuing battle Raas gets turned into stone
  • It's late afternoon (18:00-19:00) when we return to Porion through the portal
  • - Raas' wing gets chipped while going through - the portal lets out in an alley in The Trade Quarter, and close to the Nobility Quarter - The church is roughly an hour walk from this location (at half speed --> exhausion) - There are more guards milling about than usual - There are posters about the "Light Bringers" plastered about, some having been defaced with the word "traitor"
  • We take Raas to the church in the hopes of getting him healed
  • - Deacon Harold is there and says that he is capable of healing Raas, but its been a while since he's done that kind of magic - He also mentioned wanting Henrietta's assistance with something - Raas was healed. His wing will be fine, but he may not be himself for a few days according to the Deacon - Tanmore has been moved to a hospital in the Nobility Quarter
  • When asekd about the Light Bringers the Deacon said its a movement of the people
  • - started out simply as rumours - the extra guards are a reaction to the growing concern with them - Some of the guards are actually from the house of Lady Eredith
  • The Deacon also mentioned that a young fellow, a Kenku, came asking for Smodi
  • - Assuming that this was Snapper - he'd be pretty resourceful to track Smodi to the church the day after we helped them - Smodi asked if the Kenku had a peg leg??
  • Amon didn't try going inside the church
  • - When the Deacon saw him he only said 'intriguing' without any hint of malice - He also said to him before leaving, "Should you wish to seek the Light you are most welcome here"
  • Smodi thinks that the Light Bringers would make for good allies
  • - The party then splits to check on multiple things
  • Smodi heads to The Green Leaf Tea Shop
  • The following isn't yet known by the party - Prices are going up in the city - Torbin didn't have a lot of (or any) info on the Light Bringers, but said to talk to Amon - Smodi called the Light Bringers 'The Fulcrum'
  • Amon, Raas, and Dacso head to The Sapphire Shores
  • - The people in the tavern are enamoured with Amon for standing up to the Nobles - They call him Amon Lightbringer - They say the Raas and Dacso can't be too good of friends of Amon's if they didn't even know Amon's last name - We didn't know Amon's last name --> he denied having one at his trial - They tell him about a considerable bounty on his head from Lady Eredith - perhaps she's furious with the trial outcome?? - Folks from the Mining Guild are on Amon's side --> we have a quest from Torbin to help them
  • Henrietta and Arodeyr stay to check out the evening service at the church
  • - Patrons of the church are primarily dwarves and halflings - the powers of Zanarin are to 'heal' and 'disperse evil' - the church has been given special licence to help rehabilitate criminals rather than punish them - day services are held every 5 days, 4 from this day
