1. An Indecent Proposal/Happy New Year! Report
General Summary
“It’s 6am and the sun is struggling to rise past a bank of dark clouds. Marsember is shrouded in mist, the night refuses to relinquish control. Rain has fallen steadily all night and you are on your way to the home of Sanyo ‘Silver lovin’ Smith- head of the Hirelings and Lackeys Guild, of which you are a member. You received a cryptic note from him the previous day: Meet me at my home— 13 Willmot Lane, in the docks— before the sun has risen tomorrow morning— I have an exciting opportunity. The streets are near empty as you make your way to the docks, the rain builds in strength and thunder rolls in from the ocean. Marsember is in for a storm- customary at this time of year.” The year is about to be 1—to celebrate Kosa Sinto (Carnival of the Turtle), a week long festival that begins in 2 days; The Jincarna have announced a revised calendar. In 48 hours time Marsember enters a new era. All over the city people are celebrating— Marsember is richer and more powerful than ever, and now the illustrious Jincarna are set to wrangle time itself (at least on paper). Kosa Sinto is a festival largely spent in the rain, it falls in the middle of the monsoon season— appropriate considering the celebrates the great dragon turtle that once called Marsember home many thousands of years ago.
- The party awoke in various states across the city before making their way to Sanyo Smiths house.
- There, they witnessed Sanyo be murdered and his death framed as a suicide by a strange halfling in the employ of the Immino Nori .
- The party was instructed to kill a man called Luca Kadeen, who presides in Kadeen House on (or just off) the island of Ulmassa in the centre of the sea of dragons.
- Following this the party split, Ashtyn headed to the Grand Market of Marsember in search of disguises. He instructed a gnomish hustler to spread a rumour that Frederick Foppworth was responsible for the chaos at lady Morwillow's banquet the previous night.
- The part then met at the The Wounded Whale and met Red . Pansy had stored his belongings here which were collected by the party before heading to Grand Dock of Marsember to locate dock 16.
- At Dock 16 they met a sales rep called Edwin who sold them tickets on the 'Cormasi Cormarant' bound for Ulmassa.
- He suspected that Pansy was interested in particular 'sporting' activities that take place on the island- he suggested folks on board could understand this.
- He revealed that the 'Kadeen family were patrons of said sports' and that they owned all means of passage to the island of Ulmassa.
- He mentioned that should they be interested in the religious elements of life on Ulmassa that this would be catered too as well.
- The party was set to board the Cormorant.
