The Fools

General Summary

Confronting Laxius, Niktaor made a daring proposal. They would agree to trade their half of the amulet for Conradus and Iho if he would help them destroy the amulets, and with Niktaor's help, draw Lolth forth using the expended Abyssal energies. Benkei and Genji consented and Laxius agreed, though he decided that trying to draw forth Lolth without a means to control her would be foolish and settled for using the completed amulet to control Izanami-no-Mikoto and withdraw from Koryo to Menzoberranzan where he would take vengeance on the ones who had wronged him, saving Koryo from the Abyssal incursion in the process. The group willingly handed their half of the amulet over to Laxius and simply allowed him to teleport away.   With the deal made, the group returned to the army in the Sunken City and revived Conradus, freeing him from Mugen's service and delivering the news to Tao-Ren.  Within days Yomi's hold on the material plane faded away, leaving the army in the Sabaku. Though the army and the other Daimyo were more than willing to accept victory without needing to risk any more casualties, Izanagi and the Prime Monarchs were furious with the group for essentially squandering their remaining time for ultimately no reason at all. After exchanging a few icy parting words, the Monarchs departed with their father to the upper realm of Takamagahara where he resigned himself to live out the last few weeks of his life with his children.
