General Summary
Start date in game 27th of Hoard, 2513
The party reunite with Saanes, who had spent the last little bit learning scrying. They debated their options, and decided that while Elegant is out looking for a tailor, the rest of them will go to the temple, speak with Corbert, the wizard training Saanes, and use his foci to cast scrying on some folk. Saanes will scry on Dan'or'avil and Ahzek, while Mud will attempt to scry on Malzod by means of the Blood Shard. The scrying team heads to the basement room with the portal to Brother Corberts' room. Once there, they inadvertently set off an alarm spell, which stuns Mud and Saanes, as well as Brother Corbert, a red-scaled dragonborn. After everyone recovers, Corbert shuts off the alarm.
Corbert allows them to use his foci. Saanes begins with Ahzek. Ahzek is making notes about a small black sphere. Saanes sees that the temple Ahzek is in is one dedicated to Tol'y'stoy, the goddess of war and peace. However, he also notices that there are details in the desk that indicate some affiliation with K'hornate, the Exemplar of slaughter and ruin. At the end of the spells duration, a secretary comes in, takes some paperwork, and also mentions that the group of adventurers that Ahzek is interested in has taken another contract.
Saanes then scrys on Dan'or'avil, seeing him still in his city guard guise, giving out assignments. After the rest of the guards disperse, he begins speaking in Elvish with some of the guards, getting a sketch of the area that appears to be the place of execution, with notes about where guards and archers are to be stationed. Orders are given, and the guards disperse. After a few minutes, Dan'or'avil pulls out a sending stone, and begins speaking with someone. He reassures them that he will bring their daughter back safely.
Mud attempts to scry by using the blood shard, but is unable to do so. Brother Corbert is unable to cast scrying for them, and the session ends with them taking a short rest in order to regain some spell slots.
