The City on the Peak
General Summary
Arriving at port; the crew signed some documents in order to be able to some of their current goods in Lelas . They were told they have no need to worry about pirates for this port is under protection of the Empire; along with a "pirate scarecrow" to ward them off. Unpacking everything they find that they already had a horse and carriage waiting for them for some reason. The person to greet them was a man known as Professor Sheako. He promptly introduces himself and says he was ordered to escort the party for the time being by the City of Illus . Heading into city; they quickly set up shop and to sell off some ale and whine. During this selling period the party splits up into 3 groups. Indra, Dohbin, and Sheako stay back in the market square. Weasel, and Truth go looking for a place to sell some stolen goods. Lastly StormLord Lord of the Storms wanders around looking for anyone else he can convert to worship what he believes to be true. As Weasel and truth wonder about town they come across some people wearing the same bracelet with the same insignia on it. The 4th one they come across a gnomish woman; Weasel makes implication that they might be a part of a group of some kind. Asking the woman if she knows of a place that certain items can be purchased, and sold. They get the answer they were looking for and are escorted to a small thieves den. Here they exchange and sell items; along with getting a message from Weasels Coven that the High Priestess wishes to meet with Weasel, and her friends tomorrow. Receiving this information the two head back to the rest. Prowling through the streets; Storm Lord looks for a group of people that look in particular need of enlightenment. He eventually finds a group of homeless people set up in a park. Taking notice of what they need. Storm Lord heads out and snatches some blankets from a stall; rips any identify details off. Then he writes a note stating that these are a gift from the Sky. He then sneaks into the camp they have set up places down his barrel, along with the blank and note. Then sneaks away, and watches them from a far. Unfortunately for Storm Lord they don't take much notice of the note; this time. Storm Lord the sneaks his way back to the others. In the Market Square the remaining three set up the shop for the Ale and Whine. Sheako also sets up to sell guns, and gun parts. Waiting throughout the day; Indra wonders about the square for a bit to see what the others are selling. Dohbin asks Sheako inquisitively all sorts of questions; none of which Sheako wishes to answer. Time passes, and eventually everyone meets up again. Around evening the group heads to the Clift Side Inn; where they spend the night. The next Morning Weasel inform the group of the what's going to happen. Along with asking Dohbin to keep his mouth shut around her coven. Looking around the town for an old entrance she knows of she finds out it is a hat shop now. Going inside the running the counter is a puppet. Who escorts them into the back. (minor character introduction). The crew head down the ladder and eventually down stairs deep underground until the reach an entrance to a cove. Going through the area they come across a statue of a mysterious but familiar looking goddess. Weasel sacrifices a goat to read into the future; getting an omen of "Some challenges can lead to death." They then going and meet with the High Priestess of the coven. Who seems rather displease with Weasel. Mainly because Weasel hasn't been in contact for a few years. In order to prove that Weasel is still loyal to the coven. She must attempt a challenge by surviving through a realm of shadows. Showing a bit of her soft side the High Priestess allows Weasel to take her friends with her; along with giving her a day of preparation. Taking up the challenge The Crew and Sheako prepare to dive into a dungeon of shadow and mystery.
