Episode 6: The Hanging City Report

General Summary

The group arrives in New Elbar, they are met by Xerna, whom they saved from the cart in Barrel Hollow, She tells them she will take them to the Viceroy so they can be given a place to stay.   The group uses the Elbari skimmers, devices used for traversing the great heights of the canyons and descending through them, to head towards the center of the city, The Loftalis.    The hanging city is a vast and beautiful structure made from the same wood of the petrified forest, repurposed.    Viceroy Xinec is holding court amongst his people and tells a story of The Old Elbarian Kingdom and the orgins of their people in Andrim.    The viceroy is cautious of the outsiders at first but says he could user their help in dealing with another outsider.   The Group is introduced to a Warden Nathan Caldwaller who is badly hurt after trying to prevent the elves being taken by the dwarves but was ambushed by a creature called The Thralamander.    Nathan is stabilized by dok, curing him of infections from losing his limbs. His fever breaks and his state of awareness is restored.    Dok regrets he lacks the inability to restore the lost limbs of the young man, as he regains his strength he request to be taken before the horse lord. The group agrees they will take him when they leave the settlement, but they also agree that they will deal with the Thralamander, free of charge.    The group begins training the ElBari in military style combat drills, teaching them new types of weapon styles and introducing them to shield combat, courteous of Dok and Mora. The Elbari elves get comfortable with the drills and begin practicing without the need for Doks guidance.    Noell and Dean seek to mentor the young boy Onlee, who has revealed himself to be an Eladrin, a sign amongst the elves of a truly special child. Eladrin are meant to be the chosen of the elven gods.    Noell discovers he has too much raw magical potential to focus through a wand or an orb, and so dean tries to give him some advice on how to proceed with a trial and error approach to magic.    the group ambushes the Thralamander, agreeing to signal the guards with a fire arrow once they spot the creature    The creature surprised the group with its tongue which struck them from over 50 feet away. Noelle reflected the initial attack with a shield spell.    The creature lept onto the beach striking dok and mora with its claws and mouth, but when dok smited the beast and injured it it recoiled back into the water.   From within the water the creature used its tongue to grapple Dean and pull him into the water, he escaped the creatures grip but was scratched by the creature in the back, knocking him unconscious   Dok drinks a potion of water breathing and jumped into the water, his heavy armor pulling him to the creek's bed.    Noelle cast healing on Dean and he comes back up, they blast the creature with magical damage.    Mora gets her eyes on the creature below the water and empowers her spirit gun attack that rips through the creatures head   The Thralamander is transported back to the El Bari waterfront , the El Barins begin butchering the Thralamander as the group receives a heros welcome, truly feeling like heroes for the first time.   The group reaches out to Taze by Diplomats pouch, he informs them he must speak to them soon, the group decides they will head there when leaving the El Bari.   The viceroy offers some canyon gliders to fly the group wherever theyd like to go, the first stop for them is to see master Taze in gravesford.    Taze greets the party at his Tower outside Gravesford, he explains the case of the missing mage Skoros.  They show him the Shield of Andrim; Taze tells Dok it is his duty to protect the shield of Andrim at all cost, and that he must not take the shield into the city of Bettigar Keep.   The group ask Taze if he will help the Warden Nathan Caldwaller get home.
