Six months has passed since the battle of the gate, and the group has reunited after traveling seperately for a time to celebrate Balaste Day with Kenway Dalrath; as well as the marriage of Pacer and Noelle Keshal. Mora has become enlighted by reading the Tome of Exalted Deeds in the time since the battle; Dok and Dean have been hard at work on reparing Rend while Noelle focuses her efforts on reforming the Keshal and reshaping them for the future. The nations of Dalrath and Furia have cemented thier bond further and the ceremonial wedding will only further to strenghten it. Ajax is revered and worshipped openly in Rend, Dean has chosen not to oppose this. Kenway calls to session a meeting of the Pact of Rend at the wedding and demands action against Ajax within the year; The Order of Observers, now lead by Hush and The Philospher have agreed to a hit on Mordredd but little else; saying Ajax's second physical appearance in Andrim was enough to dissuade them from open war. The group as a whole decides to allow Ajax to regain his army; settling for killing mordredd within the year while Dok, Elijah, Mora and Ser Nicholas search for the Rod of St. Gaad. Pacer and Noelle are officially wed, and there is peace in a once froughtful kingdom for at least a day; Kenway annouces his intent to make Dalrath an independant kingdom backed by Furia; knowing he has but one year to strenghten himself against Ajax before the demons are at his door. Illiax reunites with his children and forms a bond with them late in life; bringing them above ground for the festivities. Dean dances with Beck Trazmora and is approached by Veera Harr; Joes wife; she gives dean a bribe in the form of one hundred thousand gold donated to the construction of a mages school in Rend. Courtesy of Ajax The group parts ways once again, promising to see each other soon in the future; for there are surely more adventures to be had, and more battles to fight; but for now, there is peace in Andrim; and the threat of the Night Below has finally ended.
As the dust settles on the battle of the gate; the forces of Rend, Dalrath and Furia along with their allies regroup; Kenway loses little to no troops, Furia and Rend take the brunt of the damage and loss. As the group reconnects with Hush and Taze, Taze states he will be taking on a new name in his new form, the Philospher. Hush and The Phillospher escort the heroes to the vault in Glasspuhls underbelly. The group claims the treasures of the vault for their own before resting and awaiting a gate back to Rend. In the camp, Mora is visited by the Outcast, who's power has been increased signifigantly by Mora's involvement in the closing of the gate; his madness now clenased from the void; he sees clearly into the future and the past. He bids her farewell, and gives her a mountain seed as a reward for her dutifal work. He takes from Illiax and Dean the crown of the Tzartakar and destroys it. The group returns to Barrel Hollow before Rend to ensure Dok's family and the Rend VIPs safety; he surrenders the shield to Karnak the Cold; who releases the hostages, true to their word; though he tells Dok his parents did not join them, defending Rend to their last breath. Dok resurrects his parents back and Rend but finds the citizens of the town saved by Ajax, now some paying tribute to him and surely moving towards worshipping him.
As Blind Buck and Dok finish the binding trap, he gifts Dok a shard of the staff of Gaad and tells him that important people will need him soon before taking off into the distance towards the battlefield. The group charges the living gate in hopes of provoking a fight with Manzaar Carrion, but need a rest beforehand. Othello Obb, uses a CIBOT rift to send the group to a camp down by the river for one last rest. During the brief respite, Noelle consults the Keshal and Dok consults Soul, the latter of the two appearing in physical form within the camp, conversing with Dok face to face for the first time. Now rested and ready to do battle, the group returns to the valley and attacks the site of the gate directly. Dok distracts the Mindwyrm and the others dive on the mages protecting the gate as well as the elder brain council controlling the forces of Glasspuhl; all the while their allies from their years of adventuring return to the scene of this final confrontation to help. After a hard and ardeous battle with the great abberant beast, the living gate itself attempted to interfere in the battle, as the avatar of Illsenine charges them as they attempt to close the gate forever. The Mindflayers attempt any strategy they can, even sacrifcing themselves to open the gate faster, but it is in vain as Noelle and the combined might of The Valarad hold the door shut, leaving an opening for a fully charged Korraine Blood to enter the realm of madness and destroy it from the inside; but not before he took in the soul of Gepetto Callisto into him, taking him along for the ride and using his magical essence to fuel the blast. The resulting magical effect combined with Dok's slaying of the Brain drake finished off the threats of the great city. The army of rend, victorious over the mindflayers at last, burn the living gate as the souls trapped inside hum, meeting the raven queen as they finally find rest in the Shadowfell, and the door to the realm of madness is closed forever.
The group consults each other on the dilemma they face when it comes to Rend; do they leave and defend their home or press the attack on the living gate? Dok, having recovered the Necklace of Returning from The Pale Prince, uses it to check in on his wife and son. Yelena and Gaadriel are held a a swordpoint by Karnak the Cold in deans quarters as Rend is assaulted from a crew of 4 Nautaloids. Karnak is joined by the infamous wizard Mordredd; finally face to face with the leadership of The Cult of Iron, Dok ask Ajax for his help; a deal is offered by Mordredd that dok will surrender the shield of Andrim over to Ajax after the living gate is decimated. Mordredd agrees on the condition that Karnak keeps all of the VIPs evacuated from Rend (Doks family, Skoros, Jess, Rhea, Selok and a few others) and Death Wards are placed on Doks family in the event he renegs on the deal. The Iron Chains of Mordredd tear open the skies of Rend and a fiendish armor of Winged Horrors descend from the Rift. Dok leaves his wife and child behind, returning to the battlefield. Meanwhile, the B squad steals a precious Mind Flayer artifact, the Archive of Thoon, which is priceless to the mindflayers as it contains the secrets of thier lost empire. This gives Illiax and Dean insight into the Gate's design and how to stop it. The group knows the dragon must be defeated first. Dok begins drawing a magic circle with the Begger Blind Buck who mysteriously finds himself here at the end of all things. The rest of the group engages an elderbrain inside of a mechanical tank like construct that smashes their forces. The outer walls of the Valley beyond Glasspuhl broken, Dean orders the forces of Rend to charge the gate, setting the stage for the groups final confrontation with Manzaar Carrion, the Mind Flayer Dragon and the Avatar of Illsenine
The group penetrates the walls of the illithid capital of glasspuhl, under the advise of The now questionable Taze head straight to the center of the battlfield towards the Interplanar Cannon, a device that launches Domination Spires into the various locations of the prime realm, dominating anyone withing a half a miles distance. The group gathers Korraine Blood who has been court marshalled for attacking the Storm Binder. They kill templars and mindflayers alike until they control the launch platform, they destroy the consoles that control the cannon as well as the launch platform that controls the plane shifting part of the device. The group receives a dower message from Skoros informing them the Mind Flayer's Dragon has appeaered in the skies above Rend.
The group makes landfall in the horrific city of Glasspuhl where the living ring is not only visible from even outside the city, but already active; The group reunites with Callum Caecilius who hands them one greenstone amulet, courtesy of Kothar who still vows bitter revenge against the party for ousting him in Krenwall and sending him back to hell; The Pale Prince arrives and returns the amulet of returning to Dok, Orzog volunteers to stay behind to see personally to the descrution of his former home. Mora discovers the currently transforming body of Taze the Wizard, at the request of Hush, they rush to save him and arrive slightly too late, with the help of Orzog the make an effort to change him and keep him outside the influence of the elder brain. They are attacked by Fish Men hybrids made from the Kuo Toans and human thralls; They are surrounded by dozens if not hundreds of fish poeple and begin to steel themselves for a fight when Pacer Dalrath appears with the Blue Skull Tribe in tow, as the Orc forces collapse on the fish folk, signaling the start of the battle of The Living Gate
The group does battle with the vicious Mind Worm, a colossal beast who guards the Illithid Cities of the Kingdom of Glasspuhl and the living gate, remotely teleporting victims directly into its stomach and scrying at will upon any ship touching the glass sea; the heroes of andrim struggle valiantly against the beast and are pushed to their near breaking point before finally slaying the monster and sending it tumbling from the air to the cavern below; however the creatures psyonic energy was mighty, shattering two of the amulets of greenstone preventing their wearers from being completely shielded from psyonic attacks. However, the group finds a bag of soul coins on the body of a chain demon in the creatures lair, as well as a flametongue chain weapon; they call upon the Hell Runner Callum Caicelius to deliver the soul coins to Grazz't and Roz and bargin for more greenstone. The group sails the Glass sea for 5 more days before they see a terrible omen on the horizon, the dark red sun of the illithid homeworld and the nightmarish outline fo the gargatuan structure that is Glasspuhl. The fight of their lives awaits them
The group goes to Kalandrah Port in Tor and meet up with the Brothers Black; Chris agrees eagerly to sail the sea of glass at the behest of Dean while Erron begrundingly agrees. The group journey once more into the Shadowfell and with the help of Ruck and the Ashari riders navigate the Illithid Lands to the coast of the Sea of Glass; on the other side of this ocean is the coastal city of Glasspuhl. Illiax, his status as admiral restored by the Raven Queen; uses his flute to call the Shadar Kai armada of ships, the group crosses the Glass sea and begins finding crew members missing; the group discover through investigating these vanishings that most of them occur while the crew is sleeping; they eventually trap the culprit, a small worm with psyonic powers, and eventually discover its abilities, being telported into a strange cove filled with acid that dealt psyonic damage; Berekat Braunstar fell victim to these attacks in the days that followed until eventually the group formed ap lan to explode the cove from within, however once damage was dealt via disentigration by Dean, the hurled them up into a cavern where they came face to face with The Mind Worm, an illithid creation of Diastrious proportions and the culprit being the attacks; Now the group faces a twenty thousand pound nightmare in ther Illithid's guardian.
The group finalizes all plans, strategems, and alliances before the final battle at Glasspuhl, they agree on a course of action in the battle itself, as well as a plan of attack. The group will scout ahead, create a teleportation circle and bring the armies in that way. Dok and Yelena decide to marry before he leaves to the Night Below again. The group's friendships and alliances are recognized completely as all of their allies gather for the wedding the night before the armies are set to arrive in Rend. The Pale Prince arrives in dramatic fashion, and tells yelena as a wedding gift he will give her her powers back, on the condition that he borrows the neckalce dok uses to visit with Gaadriel each night. Dok gives the necklace to Yelena for her to decide; She elects to take the prince up on his offer. The group attempts to use Gladfrenel's tower to move into the shadowfell but find themselves in a trap of his design, the litch again nearly kills them before they escape the mansion only to find themselves again in the plane of fire, a quick plane shift from Ludan Keshal saw the group escape, but barely.
The group journies to Kaminite to seek the eldritch knight, there they find research station Zeta; a small village of mostly researchers studying the strange phenomenon known as the glassing, the scarring on the lands from the magical difussion explosion hundreds of years ago; still irradidated with constant storms of green electricity. There they meet Sara Valenchime; a magi researcher drastically underfunded by the Arcane Circle; thinking the group is part of SMART. She agrees to give the group suits to help them navigate the radiation for a surplus trade value, the group finds the hall of enlightment, a rather decripted orcish monument converted into a makeshift temple hall. They meet Jai Alai, Master Eurion Drake and all the other eldritch knights and with the help of Noelle Keshal, they convince the Eldritch Knights to join them in the fight against Glaspuhl, as well as open at least two more gates in the final battle. The group returns to Rend for a last rest, Dean has a vision of Glasspuhl, and see's Manzaar'Carrion inact a ritual to turn his form into that of the Brainstealer Dragon
The group absconds from the eye of the circle of Shale with captain Davrik D'Thorne of the State Wizards; who uses his mercenary work in an attempt to build his own nobility and hopefully propel himself to a higher station in the mageocracy; he recognized Dean's and the war against the illithid as an opportunity to earn gold and glory for his order and agreed to help at The Battle of Glasspuhl. Davrik took a hefty payment for himself along with a 50 percent deposit. The group was then invited to Manor D'Throne to formally sign a writ agreeing to the terms; in the meantime they visited Lake Callisto, finding mere ruins inside of the burned manor. They discovered a secret stash of items and keepsakes from Gepeto Callisto and learned his history within Shale, being credited as a hero for curing a disease called The Drain along with famed serial killer Uvine Greywood. It would appear someone was trying to erase the truth of the Callisto experiments and eliminate Gepeto in the process. These events caused Dean to recover a memory relating to the night he left Shale, revealing himself to be under compelled domination from his grandfather, who seemingly banished Dean to Andrim for his own safety. Gepeto apparently completed a ritual to seal a copy of his soul inside a magic jar before being executed by the circle and ordred dean to toss it into the lake. returning to shale, the group discusses the possibility of trying to talk with Greywood before ultimately deciding to deal with the illithid first. Davrik introduces the group to his master of spies, a woman named Carina, and his second in command and armorer, Arwen Delenos or Del; Del informs the group he can likely help with any alchemical or mechanical efforts in the meantime and act as the groups liason to Davrik in Rend as he's not in the circle. Arwen agrees to return to rend with the group and Davrik suggest running this by the Eldritch Knights as well; as they are obsessed with sealing rifts like the Keshal. The group elects to travel to the island the Eldritch Knights are located on and seek them out.
The group opens an account with the Bank of Brydella, putting over 15k in gold into an account under Dean Callisto and the Company of Rend with the account password High Life, in draconic. They then journey to Shale while Noelle goes to the Eldest House. In Shale, the group seeks out blasting rods for their use against the illithid and are reunited with their old friend Davrik D'Throne, here he is Captain Davrik of the Arcane Circle, Evocation branch. He is a state battlemage but plays mercernary with his black ops wizards and spell blades; he persuades dean to use his money to buy his soilder's services instead of putting them into blasting rods, the group seems to agree and invites Davrik to join them as they continue to maneuver, he agrees to join them for a breif jaunt. Meanwhile, at the eldest house; Noelle receives a promise of aid from Master Lu'Daehn for managing Rift transport during the battle against the illithid. She also meets The Arbiter, a strange prisoner of the Keshal who wants to study the Eldest House.
The group scrambles to deal with the spice situation and zorado as well as stake their claim of Corazo's hoard; they take as much as they can; killing Valthor in the process for his Black Dragon mask. Drogahn decides he will stay with the group while Anku decides it's time for her to take her cut and depart. She is offered a position amongst the leaves of the Jadite clan, and seems to accept. The group decides Zorado and the problems with the spice hoard are all but resolved, and they have more pressing matters to attend to; as Magmorax; The Red Dragon enters the room and seeks their submission and ceasing of the treasure within Corazo's lair. The group departs with the captives of Corazo and returns to the Snake's End; There Taeadoro is surprised to learn of the betrayl of Zorado and the group beleives him; He races to return to a treasure hoard he stole from the emperor fearing zorado may have already stolen it; He arranges for the group to meet Daz, the leader of the Bang Syndicate. The group teleports to Tegquay, a port city small enough to not attract undue attention from the judges or emperor and bargins with Daz, arranging the delivery of 40 rifles, 60 pistols and 35 barrels of blasting powder. The group considers hiring Daz to break into the Royal Imperial and steal seige weapons. Daz informs them this will cost them about 100 thousand gold for him to even entertain, and at that rate he keeps 5 of the weapons for himself. The group teleports back to Rend, opting to bring Drogahn in to their fold citing his quick wit and obvious skills in Skullduggery and Larceny of many types, planning to offer him as a squire of spies to Erron Black.
The group infiltrates the Villa where Rene Dukar lives, Dukar is merely a human guise for Corazo to operate in human society. The group stealthily moves to the interior property while Leaf Kaisho maneuver's to distract the guards, dispatching Maku and his drake riders without as much as a scream. As the guards scramble to deal with the Monk, the group flys into the exterior balcony where they discover the large manor; there they meet Arianna and Verrion, a wife of Corazo/Dukar who agrees to help the group if they do not harm Verrion. They are escorted below ground where Anku and Arianna depart to the spice hoard; Anku delivers the spice directly to Zorado with his bloodstone, and is instructed to depart from him as he works. She returns to find the group freeing all the captives from Corazo's dungeon, including Leaf Tatsu and Drogon, Corazo's son. Dok offer's Drogon a position on the dragon guard, much to the protest of the rest of the Group. Drogon agrees to help kill Corazo for revenge for sabotaging his spice operation. Volthar, a sorcerer who served as Corazo's mage until the tried to dominate the creature and found himself at Corazo's mercenary and being pumped full of his blood. They also discover Xara, a tiefling who though suspected of being a spy for The Bang Syndacite, is actually employed by the Judges of Nar Fangjian; she reveals Zorado's true nature and plan to the rest of the group and they are forced between going after Zorado or finishing Corazo before he awakens and they lose the element of surprise. There is an intense back and forth between the players, with Dok and Dean convincing the group that the mission to save the world from the mindflayers must come first, and therefore Corazo has to die either way; Xara begrudgingly says she'll handle Zorado as Noelle gives her a silver'd dagger The group charges into the hoard in the last hour of Corazo's slumber, and he is awakened by the groups presence. A Battle between the two forces breaks out, and the group's strategy and preparation proves too much for the Black Scaled lord of Spice, as Dok strikes the killing blow from within the very maw of the beast. As Corazo crashes to the ground, he lands in a heap of gold and treasure sending coins every direction. As the dust settles, the group races to the spice hoard and finds Xara slain, presumably after a tough fight with Zorado, Dok uses revivify on Xara and brings her back to life, but the weight of her failure causes her to weep as the group looks around at the now empty warehouse where just an hour before, over 5 tons of spice filled the space.
The group unites a meeting of the minds of Rend when it comes to Dragon knowledge, and get advice on how to deal with Corazo, deciding it would be best to attempt an ambush inside of his lair while he sleeps; Dean sends a horrendous paranoid dream to Corazo and the group returns to Nar Fangjian to begin their hunt. Anku is confronted in her chambers by Zorado, who task her with locating the spice hoard of Corazo and allowing him to hand it over to the empire. He modifies her memories of these events with a subtle spell and makes her beleive the task is coming from Taeadoro himself. The group maneuvers through the jungle and discovers plant and wildlife of The Elder's Hand, inching closer to the Villa Corazo's lair masquerade's as. The group meet a Jadite clan warrior named Leaf Kaisho, his partner Leaf Tatsu has been trapped in Corazo's prison and he seeks a way inside the prison beneath the lair. The group enter the village of Tel Naris Kahn and pose as "Weird gem sellers" provided a distraction for an ambush on a spice runner shipment that arrived in the harbor of the little village; There mora and Anku killed Rafee, the Middle son of Corazo the black and his spice runners; they take the boat back up the steady river until it becomes too treachourous to navigate and approach the villa on foot, in the distance they see drake rider patrols closing in on them.
The group returns from Star's Rest and spends a few days introducing the Black Cloaks to the castle grounds; They then decide it would be best to acquire as much firearms and blasting powder to equalize things with the Illithid on foot; To do so, they use a bullet forged in Akrisa to travel via teleport to nar fangjian, during teleportation; Illiax is taken by a white hand reaching into the teleportation and snatching him away. The group arrives in Nar Fangjian and immediately finds themselves in The Serpent's End; a seedy bar when mora was here, now a full fledge compound promising safety and a holy ground for the criminal underworld; there they meet Anku Tel Raza, a warrior from the jungles of the Akresia wilds and the "Baron of the Bazaar" Taheadoro and Zorado; Taheadoro will arrange a sitdown with the bang syndacite and pay for 6 of these seige weapons in exchange for helping to kill Corazo the Black; a dragon who is a member of the TzarKaizen dynastay, another seedy criminal org. The group agrees to his terms and agrees to setout from Serpent's End back to rend via teleportation circle. Mora and Anku stay and both have delightful experiences with Changeling workers of Thaeadoro. Hebi wakes and finds a gift from the butcher.
The group journies to Arghast to seek out the Black Cloaks, Warden's specializing in the protection of the prime realm from the threats of the creatures of madness; They number at just 14, but all are specialist who know how to fight illithid and worse. After helping the brothers of the black cloaks clean up the town of Bernhandt after a vicious beholder attack the group journeys to Star's Rest, the fortress of the black cloaks. There they meet all the members of the brotherhood and Dean convinces them to fight in the war against the mind flayers with them; One amongst there number, a woman mage named Lyanna, has had the same visions of the Unameable One as Odin Suv. Varn Kully and the other black cloaks vote nearly unanimously to support rend and leave the island to come along on to Rend
The group returns from the house of mirrors, kenway makes a grand speech commemerating the soilders of rend, and annoucing a festival of his own for dragonfall. The group breaks the curse of Heelslicer and the last giant king Erendahl on Elissa Brontess and begin the process of breaking the curse upon her throne. She struggles with the truth of her actions against her parents. The group hears about Laowzo's true wearabouts secondhand from Norebo; He is found by them in the city of Underhill, and is shortly thereafter reunited with Shiftywick. The group returns to Rend, setting their sites on Arghast and the recruitment of a group of Wardens called The Black Cloaks
The court of Rend begins to recollect itself from Oryndahl; The group debates their next move, deciding that cashflow should be their highest priority; they discuss going into the breeze to retreive a second tooth of the dragon weapon they also try to question Shiftywick regarding a shard of the crown of Andrim they suspect him of stealing. The group elects a new captain among the men, Kore of the Elbar. and visit hush in his house of mirrors. Hush offers his asstiance gathering the enimes of ajax in the house of mirrors. A festival is held at Rend, with many notable guest including all the barons of Andrim even Kaius (Kragg) and Zyll. Elissa Brontess ask Noelle about marrying Kenway, but he seems more interested in marrying Edmund off to her to consolidate power and secure edmund his own. The group has a secret rendevous with a select group of people; Petrokolys and Mora jet off on his Pegasus Sarai; he won it in a battle with an archon. He returns Mora to the house of Mirrors in time for a meeting; Present at the meeting are Kenway and Pacer, Furian and Petrokolys, Sarah and Daggon, Erron Black, Hush Edmund and The Prince Asohka of the Githyanki, They all pledge themselves ot the Pact of Rend, an agreement to deal with the threat of the Mindflayers first, even if it meant allying themselves with Ajax, then turning their sights on him once their work is done.
The group listens to the account of the B team regarding the crown of andrim; Erron Black confesses his failure as general of Rend's forces and reports the total lost of troops at about 281; Future plans are set for a festival in the coming weeks to honor the fallen and potentially court allies for Rend in the attack on Glasspuhl. Pellick is instated as the new general of the Rendian forces; Erron Black is named master of spies for Rend and Beck Trazzmora sends volume three of the collected works of the heroes of Rend to them, along with royalties. The group travel to Aurelias Jadesoul and get a shard from Sarah Emeraldhart; they are told the Band that binds the crown is in Kenways possesion.
The group launches a surprise attack on the forces of De'Haan, Thane Selos Golem's leap down into the forge ash to protect him and the group seeks the Control Rod; the group cannot hope to harm the mighty warrior constructs, they more so seek to distract the machines until the control rod can be found. It is eventually found by Noel and reforged by the white flame of Orn via the hands of Daggon; as the armies of dalrath carve through the mountain the forces are split, being called back to protect De'Haan, a pincer maneuver is intiated. Dean is nearly killed, and instead Pyriah is lost and disnegrated; leaving only the crown of the Tzar Takar in its place. Dean surrrenders his Death Ward favor from the Raven Queen for Pyriahs soul, which is almost reclaimed by Merrick. The Golems bow to Daggon and Sarah and Thane Selos is arrested, he regales the group with his tale of Ajax and Mordredd and how he came to be a part of the Black Iron Pact. The group discovers Ajax had planted his gate under dehaans square at least a hundred years before he launched his attack on Andrim; Davrik informs the group that Mordredd likely went to the Emperors First School in Arghast.
The group rendevous with Kenway Dalrath and agree to help him take De'Haan; promised the reward of the Vault of De'Haan upon their completion; Sarah and Daggon Emeraldheart along with their younger sibling Vorthan, or Vorry accompany the group; After hours of strategy a plan is set out, and the group is able to Scry on Thane Selos and see enough information about him to teleport directly into his captial. They prepare themselves as Pacer and Kenway prepare their army to distract most of the troops of De'Haan by unleashing a horde of war goats strapped with explovies hoping to make a entry way into the impossible to seige walls of the caverns of De'Haan. The group also meets Davrik D'Thorne a shalee battlemage who is backed up by his own simulacrum.
The group finishes their journey in Oryndahl once and for all, leavining behind the Cavern of Sacred thoughts, but not before learning the truth of the origin of Illsenine. They meet Ilmar, a musician mind flayer; as well as many other mind flayers that have been severed from their elder brain and simply wish to be killed. They journey north to Dalrath via teleport and seekout the Wild King and Furian to rendevous and plan their attack.

The group participates in a sort of fight for entertainment in the blood spire; there they reunite with Grazz't and have a first face to face meeting with Ynagouh, who is still upset regarding the battle of the Blood Moon. There they face the Molydeus once again, this time with two other generals of the dog queen; they slay the Molydeus in an extremely hard fought battle and retrieve its gem once again. In the future, they could use the gem to retrieve Sir Razzalax's soul. Pacer defeats Gravahr, First Lt of Grazz'ts armies; The two engage in a battle that sees both flying through the air and clashing in the skies; Pacer is nearly defeated, impaled by the Cambion General; but Pacer uses Ferocity to survive the round and finishes the demon by ripping his wings from his body and then decapitating him. Grazz't is pleasently surprised by these events; Pacer and Grazz't have a brief staredown over noelle, who is gifted the rare corpse flower by the prince of pleasure.
The group journeys into the heart of Tennebrus; seeking the blood spire; they find themselves in a combat with a swarm of batlike man creatures called NightWings; the nightwings prove to be formidable opposition and nearly kill Dok; Dok is returned to magnificent mansion; they are contacted directly by Malvarian who offers an olive branch to them for killing the nightwings. The group solves the cube and opens it again, this time a demon steps through attempting to take their souls; they dispatch the demon and go into the gate opened by the cube; they find themselves in the realm of Orcus, 333rd layer of the abyss; Noelle uses the Keshal Overmind to contact the ancient masters and discover a vampire named Malvarian has the keshal in his possession somewhere called The Blood Spire
The group visits The Ashari, a telepathic, psionically gifted tribe that were at one time surfacers; they were taken below into the darklands and into Oryndahl 500 years ago. They eventually developed psionic abilities after the illithid experimented on them with Azurite. A group of them escaped to the eastern lands and found White Rock, and the valley where there is an abundance of Azurite. The Ashari suggest to the group a united attack on Oryndahl with Rendian forces; the process takes about 5 days and the united forces march on the illithid city Pyriah accesses more memories of the Tzartakar; giving him the opportunity to learn that the elder brain will call to him, and even tempt him. This awareness will give him the opportunity to resist its call; though not a guarantee of success; while meditating on this, he finds a grey render that bonds to him, he names Blanks
