Urbs Magna V: Liberty to Slaves! Report

General Summary

The party stripped the slain guards, equipped themselves, tossed any extra weapons to the prisoners in the cell and freed them before more guards come spilling into the hallway. They are confused by Asbjørn Þórsteinnsson and Kegho standing around helplessly in guard garb and Kegho clotheslines a hapless prisoner and tells them that everything is under control and to chase after phantom fugitives to the south west. In the chaos the party escapes into the cool Eknoi night.

They are beset upon by a Fafherd and the Grey Mouser analog which makes Kegho and Alexandru Croitoru feel simultaneously uncomfortable, as well as a bevvy of English football hoodlum equivalents. Teleptyon Marathonos reaches into his rich rural cultural background to find earthy insults for the two. From what they were able to gather from Georgias’ exposition, someone paid the men 100 silver to teach the party a lesson.

The fight started off fairly favorable to the party, but Calixtus proved to be a glutton for punishment and the group only survived thanks to Brother Theophilus's dedication to Maya, and the ability of the two barbarians to soak up damage and wrassle. Calixtus let slip that they had somehow been involved in freeing the party from their imprisonment before finally being put down by the relentless but mostly ineffective concerted action of the group. On stripping the brigands they found coin, weapons, clothes and Alex found a few (3) rings of electrum, a unique ring of two serpents intertwined with an emerald set between their fangs, and some coin. He had previously also had a gold earring with an inset amethyst but Asbjorn had taken it as a trophy and was currently considering which of the hepatitises he might be about to get.

A girl appeared, barefoot and Alex cried out in Oameni to see if she was friend or foe, but she was just a young girl--Justina Phrantze--in a cloak who spoke only Eknoi. Teleptyon parlayed with her and when he had finished with her gave her 20 silver to engage her in information finding. Apparently a dark-haired woman with big ears had engaged the brigands. She sent them looking for an inn and tavern in the slums of Nestoria Harbor. Teleptyon guided them to their location as dawn broke. The party was disappointed, but not entirely surprised by the quality of the accommodations although they did have to admit, the tavern’s itira looked great.
