CD Issue 3: Blunt Force Trauma Report

General Summary

The issue opens with a wide shot of the Spiderweb, with the Dr Miranda Nowak telling our heroes that if they don't intervene, The Trust will quickly have an army of Metabeing soldiers on the streets. More importantly (to her), she fears for the safety of her own family.   Malware(person:1d7e56ed-33e6-4cc4-b5be-152d49c1376a) was quite upset that the @[Dissidents brought home two strangers to her secret layer. Plus they tracked all sorts of mud in from their previous battle at Monument Park in the rain. Aside from the doctor, they seem to have brought along one of the Trust Terror Squad soldiers, turned into a tree by his abuse of the drug Helios.   After some debate, Siren gathered her mystical forces and portaled the tree villain to the nearest TCSF station with a note explaining that it's more a super villain than a tree. Siren makes a mess casting the spell. Paladin is already cleaning in an attempt to keep the peace.   Despite Paladin having looked into the doctors eyes and judged the truth in her story, Malware(person:1d7e56ed-33e6-4cc4-b5be-152d49c1376a) had trouble trusting the newcomer. @[Aliena pushes her frenemy to get over it, and Malware extends her bio-ware to tell if the doctor is lying. Things go wrong, and malfunctioning nano-bots knock the doctor out before she can give them any more information.   After further debate, Paladin decides to call the doctors family and make sure they are safe. After a very short awkward call, Malware detects a police presence on the line and panics. They shove their teammates into closets and executes Protocol Omega, converting the tech bunker into a secret teenager hangout, complete with junk food, strewn clothes, and a bong. Knowing that a simple police trace can't overcome Malware's tech prowess, the team talks them down.   Malware finds that their automated systems have back-hacked into the police computers, and they start combing the files. The police appear to be helping the Nowak family, having identified that the doctor had been kidnapped by the Trust. Siren teleports the sleeping doctor back to her family.   Deep in the police records, Malware finds the Lawyer who got The Chemist out of jail. They trace him to Calliope, playing poker with the other criminal higher ups in the city. They take a magical ride on Paladin's steed Pegasus to the lowlife hangout. Everyone is greatly smitten with the equine hero.   A quick attempt to extract the Lawyer without having to face the criminal army fails miserably, and the Dissidents found themselves ambushed by The Brute Squad.   The teleporting trio dropped in behind them, but the heroes quickly turned the tables. Aliena distracts them by transforming into her own version of Pegasus. Paladin slams Blunts through the roof. Siren binds Blip so she can't teleport away. Malware stuns and paralyzes their foes. After Paladin beats Blunt into unconsciousness, the rest of the squad decide to make their escape.   Blip jumps from the roof, parkour-ing her way down the pipes and ledges to the street below. Malware was no ok with that and jumped off after their foe, only with a straight jump and no gymnastics. They are saved by their team before hitting the ground. Blip escapes into the crowd before she can apprehended. Paladin leverage his steed finish off Blades, but the punk rocker dodges the steed causing it to collide with Paladin. Paladin stands steady, but when he recovers the henchman is gone as well.   The foes quickly dispatched, Siren uses her magics to repair the minor collateral damage. The team stands victorious, with one Trust heavy their prisoner. Can they get the info they need out of him? Tune in next week!
